Check back for coverage of Anheuser-Busch shareholders meeting
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Folks, I would normally post something around lunchtime, but I need to run to Lambert to catch a flight. Destination: beautiful Secaucus, N.J., scene of Anheuser-Busch’s shareholder meeting on Wednesday. The company’s shareholders are expected to vote overwhelmingly in favor of InBev’s buyout offer. Please check back at about noon tomorrow for the big news.

Jeremiah McWilliams is a native Virginian who came to the Post-Dispatch in early 2007 to cover beer and other consumer products. He previously covered manufacturing for the Virginian-Pilot newspaper in Norfolk, Va. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University.
If this isn’t typical of St. Louis…. I thought this blog was news from the WORLD of beer. Last I checked, the world isn’t flat, and extends a bit farther than the big brewery sitting on Broadway. I have to go back days in this blog just to find something that isn’t AB related. Lame beer from a soon to be foreign company. Jeremiah, there are several beers brewed in St. Louis that are owned by St. Louisans that are excellent beers.
How about using a little bit of space to show off some of the other brewers in this town that are more dedicated to making a quality beer, rather than the big dog in Soulard who is more worried about how much money they can get out of a really cheaply made product. If you asked the average St. Louisan how many breweries there were in St. Louis, they’d answer AB, and most would probably get Schlafly too. What about O’Fallon, Allendale, Buffalo, Morgan Street, Square One, Amalgamated (coming soon), and Mattingly (also coming soon)? I’d love to see some news on these places rather than a bunch of press releases issued by AB.

Good comments, there are alot of other good beers made in St. Louis, but until they employ as many people as AB did…..They will still only be the other beers.
Anyone know how we can find out the institutions and investment firms that are majority holders of AB stock and are selling us out? Just want to make sure I quit supporting them.
Thanks-
