Lager Heads understands that there will soon be meetings at Anheuser-Busch to let employees know the status of their jobs in the wake of the announcement that 1,400 salaried folks and hundreds more contractors will be let go.

If you are leaving Anheuser-Busch, or are still there but would like to chat anonymously, we’d always be interested in talking to you about your experiences. Of course, we would not use your name in a story without permission. You can e-mail reporter Jeremiah McWilliams directly at jmcwilliams@post-dispatch.com.

I have heard that there were actually some of the salaried employees that were eligible for the early retirement and did not take it. I hope its some of the really brilliant ones who thought they were what the company was running with and could not do without them. How they will be surprised when they are let go with nothing. Also wait until 2010 when they drop all of the benefits for the retirees. Gussie should have had the third shot when he had the chance. Have fun Carlos, I hope you choke on a hop!!!!

Actually, They are leaving with a pretty good package. In some cases better than the early retirement package that was offered

InBev will have it’s back against the wall in this economy. They paid twice what they could have for the purchase at the historically highest rates and arrangement fees.
More manager and hourly job losses will be in the future. Looking at their history in mergers they most likely will do the same things. All the current directors and upper managers will be replaced by longer term inbev employee’s like they did in Europe during the first year after the merger.
Some time next year they will look at reducing the hourly labor force.
I agree with retiree-inbev increased the contribution rate for retiree’s by 40% while holding the working managers at 25%. They will keep raising this and price them out of medical coverage.
I’m 60 and see that down the road.A thanks fro 25 years of commitment working 10 hour+ days and multiple weekends a month.
