O’Fallon Brewery, based about 35 miles northwest of St. Louis, last week was awarded the Silver Medal in the 2009 Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am Competition. O’Fallon Brewery’s entry was “Alright Already Amber” which was based on an award-winning recipe developed by St. Charles County homebrewer Jim Yeager.
We’ll hopefully have more details later. For now, congrats to O’Fallon and to the Brewers Association, the trade group that apparently put on a heck of a show in Denver last week. The Great American Beer Festival included 457 breweries in the festival hall, 49,000 attendees (including brewers, volunteers and ticket holders), 495 breweries in the competition, 3,308 beers judged, and 132 judges from ten countries.
Wow. Who knew folks were so interested in beer? (Well sure, we did. But it’s nice to see proof.)

Very cool! I haven’t tried this brewery yet (I’m a Schlafly fan), but I sure will now. Congrats to O’Fallon Brewery!
Boulevard and AB won some medals, too. Congrats to O’Fallon, and Jim!
Good for them! O’Fallon is my favorite of the local craft brewers. Haven’t tried this brand yet, but I will when I see it.
it’s not bottled, Greg. I would THINK that with such a prestigious award, they would consider bottling this, though.
