Qualifying has begun at Gateway
Earlier today, Mother Nature looked as though she was going to throw a wrench into today’s qualifying sessions for the O’Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway in Madison.
But the heavy rain that moved through the area is gone, the sun is shining brightly and the Stock Eliminator Class is now qualifying on the quarter-mile dragstrip.
The first pro run is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. with Pro Stock Motorcycles followed by Pro Stock Cars, Funny Cars and Top Fuel dragsters.
The second pro run is set for 5:30 p.m. with the motorcycles followed by Pro Stock Cars, Funny Cars and TopFuel.
If fans are entertaining thoughts of coming out today, head to Gateway because it’s 73 degrees and it’s turned out to be a good day to watch drag racing.
