Say this about Bobby Labonte: The man’s a pro.
Despite rampant speculation that he would follow the big-G little-o of the Cheeries/General Mills sponsorship from Petty Enterprises to Richard Childress Racing next season, Labonte would have none of it, and now The Associated Press reports that the 2000 Cup champion will re-sign with Petty.
That’s loyalty, and that’s how one should conduct business while under contract, and all the young whippersnappers in NASCAR who are considering job-jumping next season would be wise to take notice.
How Labonte has done it … that’s how it’s done.
