Braun polesitter for Copart 200
Roush Fenway Racing driver Colin Braun won the pole this morning for this afternoon’s Copart 200 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Gateway International Raceway in Madison.
Braun, 20 of Ovala, Texas who drives the No. 6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150, turned a lap of 33.593 seconds at 133.956 miles per hour on the 1.25-mile oval. He is sixth in the points standings with 2,261 points. Defending race champion and series points leader Ron Hornaday starts next to Braun on the first row after stopping the timer in 33.662 seconds at 133.682 mph.
”It was a great run,” Braun said. “I feel like we have a good truck for the race. I was real surprised we got the poll. I thought we had a much better race truck than we did a qualifying truck.”
The race will start in about 90 minutes with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s with very little humidity.
