Junior-philes are having a kaniption fit about Kyle Busch spinning out their beloved hero Saturday night at Richmond.

What? They’re mad about Busch doing what Daddy Earnhardt did time and time again?

The level of negative passion (i.e. hate) directed at other drivers by Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s rabid followers borders on the ridiculous, if not the insane. Can’t Junior loyalists just be happy showering him with love (and millions of dollars in merchandising money) without disliking or dissing someone else?

Guess not.

At least this Kyle Busch dustup should take Jeff Gordon’s rip on Earnhardt Jr.’s non-teammate behavior at Talledega off the radar screen for a while.

I will say this about the junior Earnhardt. Dude’s a class act. After the race in Richmond, he pretty much said it was “one of them there racing deals” and pretty much exonerated the younger Bush.

DE-Jr. showed the same class last year when Gordon caught and surpassed DE-Sr. in wins, much to the chagrin of Earnhardt Family fanatics. And he showed the same class after his very public departure from DEI and his stepmother.

Hopefully, one day, obsessed Junior-philes will show the same class as their hero.
