Here’s the weekly update on Kenny Wallace from Jay Robinson racing …

Wallace, Team U.S. Border Patrol Saddle Up for West Coast Trip

MONROE, N.C. (Friday, Februy 20, 2009) - Most drivers enjoy heading to the West Coast to race for a multitude of reasons. Count Kenny Wallace in that group, as well. Following an exciting finish in the season-opening race at Daytona, Wallace and Team U.S. Border Patrol are eager to get down to business at the Auto Club Speedway in California.

A two-mile oval, many racing insiders would lump the Auto Club Speedway into the same category as a variety of tracks on the Nationwide Series circuit. Nonetheless, the track often provides door-to-door racing thanks to its unique, multi-groove racing surface.

That’s what Wallace enjoys about the track. Having competed at the Auto Club Speedway since its opening in 1997, the St. Louis, Mo. native has certainly logged his share of laps while scoring strong finishes at the track.

“California has always been a good track for me,” Wallace said. “I’m excited about California because we’ve had experience there with our Border Patrol team and my crew chief. I think that we’re going to run good out there.”

In his 20th year competing in the Nationwide Series, Wallace is always one to watch in his No. 28 U.S. Border Patrol Chevy. But as will be the case all season, the Border Patrol will continue their off-track presence, as well. They’ll be at the Auto Club Speedway all weekend at the race track midway as they continue touring the Nationwide Series on their recruiting platform.

Wallace, Team U.S. Border Patrol, and Jay Robinson Racing will hit the track on Saturday night for the Stater Bros. 300. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
