Lefty logic is laughable, especially when it comes to domestic security

“Achievement gap” from Michael Bartz is one of the funniest things I have read in YEARS! To blame President Bush for the 9/11 attacks after he was in office only 9 months without even MENTIONING the fact that in the previous 8 years intelligence and military budgets were butchered is not just wrong or disingenuous, it is DISHONEST. He also “forgets” to mention that the previous administration had the SAME intelligence and did nothing, and had Osama Bin Laden in hand, and let him go. Now here we stand 7 years later with NO FURTHER ATTACKS. Who gets credit for that? I’m sure in Mr. Bartz’s twisted mind with some kind of twisted logic, it must be Bill, Al, or Hillary!John Andere

LOL - seems this letter writer is trying to slap the knee-jerk Republican response to all the ills in the world, which is, of course, Bill Clinton. It is all Bill Clinton’s fault. Repeat after me “It is all Bill Clinton’s fault…it is all Bill Clinton’s fault…”

What was the name of that memo again…what was the date of that memo…August 6, 2001, presidential daily briefing entitled Bin Laden determined to strike in US. Oh yeah. That was so vague, gorsh, don’t know what point they were trying to make.

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee—I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can’t get fooled again.”—Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

How the heck could Pres. Bush be concerned with terrorism when all his neo-cons were beating a path to war in Iraq prior to his inaugaration? Didn’t Rummy or Cheney tell the CIA or NSA or whatever intelligence agency they could yell at to quick bugging them with Bin Laden crapola and concentrate on lraq?

So, if we’re playing the blame game…during what US Presidential administration did Al Queada get most of the arms that they used to make them a power in Afghanistan and thusly provide Bin Laden safe haven? It’s that guy Republicans keep saying should get a Nobel Peace Prize…no, not Charlie Wilson…

As for the logic about not being attacked (on American soil, I’m sure is what this scholar meant to clarify) is sham reasoning. Here is an example that best describes that logic, from the Simpsons of course:

“Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm!
Lisa: That’s specious reasoning, dad.
Homer: Why thank you, honey.
Lisa: By your logic, I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Hmm. How does it work?
Lisa:It doesn’t work; it’s just a stupid rock!
Homer:Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?
Homer: Hmm… Lisa, I want to buy your rock.

You should mention the PDB that your PDB referenced: Dated Dec 4, 1998 ( I forget who was President then) and was titled JUST a little bit clearer: “Bin Laden preparing to hijack U.S. aircraft and other attacks.”
If I remember correctly, that is also the time frame of the President lying to us on a couple of issues, him having sex with an intern and lying about it under oath, and lying to us about Iraq and their WMD’s.

#3 - then by using the logic of this letter writer, since there was NO airline attack during Bubba’s Presidency, then I guess someone was doing something right. Now, if he got that memo in 1998 AND there was that type of attack, you can say someone was asleep at the switch…but you see, smart guy, once 2001 rolled, he gave all the intel they developed over the years and passed it onto Bush, Rummy, Cheney, Wolfoshitz, Rice, Hughes, Rove, etc. and what did they do with it? N O T H I N G.

Your point about WMDs is so stupid, this is the only comment I’ll make on them. Where are they?

BTW, you almost hit the kool-aid drinker trifecta;
It’s all bubba’s fualt (check)
Allude to Lewinsky (check)

You missed Hilary is the devil. Don’t worry sport, you’ll get it right next time!!

RSFC, you say those of us on the right blame Clinton for everything, but you on the left admit none of his mistakes, so lets just call it a draw?

“Where are they?”
I dont know, but I still bet Syria. They werent were Clinton thought they were when he launched missiles at Iraq, and they werent were Powell and the Bush admin said they were, and they werent were the UN thought they were, they werent where his neighbors thought they were.

Anthrax? What are you talking about Marvin?

I don’t remember any “anthrax” attacks on the US in the past 7 years. I do remember some psycho mailed a few letters out to members of congress and a couple of people go sick…but an attack?

I can honestly say I have not been affected by any terrorist attack since 9/11 - thank you Mr. President and your war on terror - nor have I been attacked by a tiger, and I don’t even own a magic rock!

I can say with confidence that the terrorists a this point will wait and attack again after Obama is in office and not before. He has no “kahonees.” Bush would simply take them all out at this point in his presidency and they certainly don’t want to risk Obama not getting into office if they attack before the election and assuring a McCain win. Remember him singing “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran”? At the end of the day, this election will be about national security and McCain is the only one left in this race with the “kahonees” to fight back.

I have stated for years in the blogs here that the true front in the “War on Terror” in Pakistan. Yet for the last 7 years we have wasted valuable blood and treasure in Iraq, a country that nothing to do with 9/11 and did not have the WMD’s that in no way, shape, or form posed a threat the U.S. Then the right wing nut jobs saber rattle with Iran over nukes that they are years ways from developing.

Obama has no “kahonees” huh? If I remember correctly it was Obama that said he would bomb Pakistan if necessary. Lets see, it’s Pakistan that has been giving aid and comfort to Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, it’s Pakistan where Bin Laden is rumored to be hiding, it’s Pakistan that is the lone Muslim nation with a nuclear arsenal that is a coup way from having those weapons in the hands of clerics, it was a Pakistani that attempted to sell nuke designs to Libya and Iran. It seems to me that Mr. Obama is the only candidate with the “kahonees” to identify where the true front in the “War on Terror” is.
