The story of a great individual from an even greater nation

Years back, before I came to the United States as an international student, as a native of India I always used to hear from pundits in the Indian media that Hillary Clinton would someday be the future president of the United States. As a lot of other Indians in India, I too used to favor her as the future president, mainly due to the large popularity of the former President Bill Clinton in that part of the world. However, when I came to the United States in fall 2006 though it still was early days for the presidential primaries, I heard the name of Barack Obama. Initially, as many other Americans and East Indian Americans I favored Hillary instead of him, and then in the December of 2007 there came a change. During my Winter break, I read Obamaʼs, Audacity of Hope, and started closely watching the democratic debates. Within, no time not only was he my candidate but in many ways than one even my idol. All in all, I think the rise of Sen. Obama isnʼt just a remarkable story of an individual, but the story of this great country, which gives everyone a fair opportunity.

Does anybody in the Cult of Obama know if he celebrated the not guilty verdict in the OJ Simpson murder trial? Do any of the impressionable fools know anything other than Chris Matthews legs shiver when Obama speaks? It’s not clear if they shiver independently or in controlled sequence but switching from too tight Jockeys to comfortable boxers may alleviate some of the problem.

Have to admit, Obama sure has alot of people brainwashed. Sounds a lot like Jim Jones. Start drinking.

not a Sage,

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc who voted against a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, who “doesn’t know much about the economy” and will “have to bone up on that.”

I’m sure you will support Slick Johnny Mc, who was against the Bush tax cuts before he was for them.

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, who actively sought out the endorsment of Pastor John Hagee, an anti-Catholic bigot.

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, who actively sought out the endorsement of Rev. Rod Parsley who calls Islam “the enemy of America.” Mind you not radical Islamic extremists, not Islamic terrorists but, the religion of Islam.

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, who doesn’t know the difference between a Sunni and a Shi’ite Muslim, in Iraq or anywhere else.

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, whose temper is legendary in the US Senate. I want that guy’s hand on “the button.”

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, in our continuing to waste over $500 billion and 4,000 soldier dead in Iraq, for the next “100 years.” (or is it a “thousand years?”)

I’m sure you’ll support Slick Johnny Mc, in staying lax in Afghanistan while the Taliban, al Qaeda, and Osama bin Laden run thousands of tons of white heroin onto American streets, even those here in St. Louis, Missouri.

No help for defrauded homeowners in the mortgage crisis, a tax break if you can afford health insurance, and more tax breaks and giveaways for Big Oil, the utilities, drug companies, telephone companies and for the already too rich. That’s W’s…uh, Slick Johnny Mc’s, plan for America.

More of the same moron for four more years.

Perhaps you can make him the president of India and restore all those customer service jobs back to America.

Mr. Singh,

Although a born-American, I’ve taken much the same journey as you have. Originally enthusiastic over Clinton, discovered Obama, torn between the two, and now committed to Obama. I cannot agree more with your assessment. Mr. Sage, I’m not sure Sen. Obama was even involved in Illinois state politics at the time of the Simpson acquittal, and frankly, I fail to see the relevance. Perhaps you should consult your usual news source, if you can find a recent copy of the National Enquirer.

I too fail to see the relevance to Illinois state politics, which by the way, neither Mr. Singh or I added to the argument and for the life of me can’t understand why you think Obama’s Illinois political involvement was necessary for him to celebrate a racially based miscarriage of justice.

An Idol? Damn, you got blinded by the rhetoric. Tell us, how much more in taxes are you willing to pay to your “idol”? How do you feel about your idol talking to people who want the destruction of America, her ally Israel, and is actively engaged in combat operations against US troops in Iraq, they Persian Gulf and fighting with Hezobollah in Lebanon? It doesnt bother you that your “idol” is friends with terrorists? Do you also believe in the divisional preachings of his “church”?

How did the OJ acquittal suddenly become a test of political sanity? Talk about non sequiters.

Tell us Sage, what gets your goat up the worst about Obama? His party affiliation? His racial heritage? His name? His charisma? Or is it something else?

I personally think that Hillary is going to ride it all the way to the convention and pull a rabbit out of her hat that will sink Obama. Which will pretty much guarantee McCain will win in November.

#1 - Iconoclastic Sage,

Only a FOOL would dare NOT give reasons or justifications for what they are stating.

There are no rabbits coming out of any hat concerning Obama. However, there will be another great attempt, kind of like Bush’s camp, the LIE that McCain had a Black illigimate child, not just a child, but a BLACK child, knowing the racist fiber of enough Americans, Republicans and Independants.

Whatever comes out of the Clinton’s camp or any other camp about Obama will be the same, DISTORTED LIE(S). But, unlike with McCain, such lies will not work as intended to bring down Obama. In fact, they will certainly backfire.
