What kind of president are we ready to accept?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Some people say “Are we really ready for a black President?” but the real question is “Are we really ready for another rich, tired, President who has no clue about average Americans and can’t see that policy has consequences?” Obama may not be experienced in the Washington Beltway but he knows how what Washington does effects We The People. Maybe it’s time for us to take control of our democracy.

Why do we keep getting this liberal tripe?

Who exactly is the rich tired president you speak of? It has to be The Obamamessiah. He’s filthy rich, with a net worth of 1.3 million. he’s always complaining about how tired he is. he has used fatigue as an excuse for his plan to give free “breathalyzers and inhalitors” to asthmatic children. When The Obamamessiah claimed to have visited all but one of the 57 states in the US, his supporters blamed fatigue. When The Obamamessiah claimed that 10,000 people died in a Kansas tornado (actual death toll was 12), he again blamed fatigue. Can this guy hack it? Doesn’t look like it.

No more Republican presidents, please! Many of us are SO tired of corporate-run figureheads who can’t count to ten or spell “democracy”, let alone understand the concept.

The real question is “Are we really ready for another dose of a Jimmy Carter-type presidency who has no clue about what his policy decisions/plans will have on American.”

Obama wants to:

1. Double the capital gains tax. So if you own stocks (50%+ of US households own stocks) you will pay more in taxes. Nevermind if you have a 401(k) which the vast majority of Americans have.

2. Double the dividend tax. So if you are elderly and dependent upon a fixed income you will pay substantially more.

3. He doesn’t oppose $5 a gallon gasoline — he says that he wishes the price increase would have been “more gradual” than it was.

4. He wants to sit down and talk and negotiate with the likes of Aminutjob in Iran — and probably with King Il Jong of N Korea and hey why not Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe too!

5. He will let the Bush tax cuts expire.

6. He really liked the restrictive guns laws of Chicago and Washington DC but now in light of today’s Supreme Court ruling, he says that “I have always believed that the Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms, but I also identify with the need for crime-ravaged communities to save their children from the violence that plagues our streets through common-sense, effective safety measures. The Supreme Court has now endorsed that view, and while it ruled that the D.C. gun ban went too far, Justice Scalia himself acknowledged that this right is not absolute and subject to reasonable regulations enacted by local communities to keep their streets safe.”

7. He would raise the tax rate on the top earners to 40% — and he considers anyone making over $100K as “rich”

Why do you lefties always look at color or gender? I couldn’t care less what color or sex our President is. I want the most qualified person. Unfortunately we have a media who has selected our current candidates for us. Matt, you haven’t pointed out one reason whatsoever why Obama should be our next president except to point out that the reason he should be president is because he is black and not rich. Hey, I know a lot of people like that but I assure you that doesnt qualify them to be president. Your lack of reasoning is quite scary and very immature.

Let’s face it. The media frames what most think on who the president is. For some reason it seems that the press pushes that Republicans are not very smart and democrats are Rhodes scholars, when those are not the facts at all.

Thank you NYT, LAT, The Post-Disgrace of St. Louis, and all the other liberal newspapers. Did I say that all these news organizations are left-wing liberals? Because of them, we now have probably the worst choice ever for president in my lifetime!

Matt, I think you are confusing Cindy McCain with her husband, John. She is the one with the money. What I cannot seem to grasp is how all the candidates for President seem to act as if they can relate to the common man despite the fact that they are all filthy rich, for the most part. John Kerry, Bob Dole, John Edwards(it is tough owning all those houses), Al Gore, Bush 1 and 2, Barack and Michelle, and John and Cindy. I guess that I should have included the Clintons, but I am not sure how much of their wealth was earned or given to them.

I think Obama as president would be a great lesson in history for his young voters. As they say, those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
These fools have no idea what Communism, Marxism, socialism, and fascism are, but they’ll find out. Yeah, and Marxism worked out really well for Mugabe and Zimbabwe didn’t it? Have you seen their inflation rate and the destitute poverty in that country? What did Mugabe do? He took the land from the white land owners and now the country is starving because they don’t know how to farm the land. NObama and his creepy pals are out to take what they can from “the white rich man.” NObama as president will be change alright and this should be really interesting.

Stop-

Are you saying that Obamamessiah is going to take the land from the white farmers and give to the blacks? Did you read it somewhere. I had not heard of this before but I would not put it past him. The liberal commie democrats are out to take all of the land from us hard working folks and give to those that won’t work. And it’s us that will end up starving to death when they can’t grow anything.

Frank,

What distortions, or shall I say lies?

The elderly’s will not pay any taxes on their social security checks.

The only ones who will see higher taxes are those making $250,000. or more.
Everyone else will see lower taxes.

To say Obama doesn’t oppose $5.00 a gallon gas is just ridiculous and distorted and ridiculous. Obama certainly gain nothing from $5.00 per gallon gasoline prices. Plus it hurts his supporters, us little people who are the reason for his being the Democratic nominee.

#5 through #6 are the only statements holding truth.

#7 shows that you have not grasped at all what Obama has stated. You are listening way too much to Republican pundits.
