Don’t let Anheuser-Busch (or its story) die
Regarding Anheuser Busch, has the group save A-B just gave up?
I hope not. It is terrible that American companies, in particular big corporations keep selling out to foreign interest groups. What kind of American are we leaving for future generations?
It is clear that the Board gave in to the pressure of its stockholders. Frankly they did not have much choice as the large greedy stock holders were going to fire them. But this fight does not have to be over.
I hope the save A.B. group keeps up the fight. We need to start saving American and this is a good place to start. Too many industries are already controlled by foreign ownership. There are many business U. S. owned today dependent on foreign vendors that can attest to its negative effects.
Anheuser Busch represents too much American heritage to be sold.
Regardless that the Board consented to the sale because of the threats of the likes of Warren Buffet and large stock holders I am sure. Buffets only dedication to American is thru his wallet. He made that crystal clear. He is just one greedy rich selfish bastard. How much money does he need anyway to be happy? Then the pension and benefits of one Union got on the band wagon for A-B to sell. So much for Unions standing behind American made.
However the sale of A-B can still have hope to be blocked. The Anti-Trust department of the Federal Trade Commission is the legal body that will have to approve this sale I believe. If enough groups and people continue the fight this sale still could be effectively be blocked. But it will not happen unless the save A-B group continues to make noise to political leaders.
Denial by the Federal Trade Commission will result in NO SALE. This relieves the pressure and threat to the Board from the stockholders and lets the Board be the good guys or Pontius Pilot so to speak.
Senator Bond and Senator McCaskill were already on record of opposing the sale. Are they still doing so to represent the state of Missouri and its people or was their opposition only for the Busch family? The constituents of Missouri need to keep heat on those two. It would be nice to see the representatives in Washington make at least one right decision this decade.
Please keep up writings on this sale to encourage people and groups to keep this fight alive. American is in one heck of a mess. We need to stop selling the country out. Anheuser Busch is an excellent company. They do too many good things for American to let them be sold. I doubt if InBev will be so generous with their support of non profits and associated business’s of the company. They will cut and split pieces to pay for their purchase. In other words they will break the company up in to tiny pieces by selling one thing off at a time to get their money back.
I can not stress enough the importance of the press, especially in St. Louis to keep this fight alive. American needs to save A-B to keep it an American heritage and owned company.
Please help. Keep the story to save A-B alive. Don’t let it die.

Michael,
Whoever owns A-B is going to economize. Jobs will be lost, and plants will be consolidated. We still live in a free society, and people can do with their property as they wish. Just as A-B did a number of years ago when they sold the Cardinals baseball club because it was a net loss to the company’s bottom line.
Look at the bright side. At least In-Bev doesn’t now also own Cardinal Nation.
