Obama’s flop on Iraq at least brings him to the prudent approach

Senator Obama stated in response to a question during a live news interview today in Jordan that if Iraq broke out in ethnic violence while he (as President) was in the process of withdrawing troops, he would “reserve the right to intervene.” That’s interesting. When did he make the transition to caring enough about the internal affairs of Iraq to “intervene”? He crows about his vote not to go to war when we suspected Iraq had WMD, an international issue, but now he can justify recommitting troops during withdrawal if ethnic violence breaks out, an internal issue!

It’s a strange flip flop, but at least he is now coming around to the sensible and prudent approach he originally opposed, which is that the rate of withdrawal should be determined by conditions on the ground — not by a hard and fast time table.

Larry, I agree with you, Obama does seem to be the more sensible and prudent candidate. He is so steady yet vibrant, youthful yet self assured, intelligent yet a man of the people. I have never been more hopeful for the future of our wonderful country because of the prospect of having Barrack Obama as our president.

Susan- Huh??

Remember that when he was trying to get the moonbat votes, The Obamamessiah said he’d pull US troops out of Iraq even if genocide was the result. The number of flip-flops this goof has made is so large it is truly stunning. Does anybody, even the Obamamessiah, know what he thinks about anything?

Larry,

Sure, Obama flips now to appear more centrist and less the Left-Wing kook. The problem is, he’s proven himself shameless at changing his position, lying about past statements, and so utterly lacking in integrity that no one can figure out where he really stands.

Maybe the “change” candidate refers to how the Junior Senator from Illinois changes his position to fit the opportunity of the moment.

What part of “We must be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in” is this latest statement incongruous with ?

a little of topic but it just confounds the hell out of me!
Most of the conservative right is rooted in christianity yes/no? I am offended when the right compares Obama to the Messiah this is blasphemous at its best! Shame on all you sinners.
Yet at the same time its quite a compliment.
Your disparity is obvious.

Eddy

I don’t believe it is a comparison, I think it is what Obama compares and thinks of himself.
