Positive action brings positive results: Drink ABIB
There is possibly a very good way to keep AB open in St. Louis (since we possibly have the most expensive brewery to operate - being such an old operation). It might even encourage InBev to consider putting their headquarters here. I ENCOURAGE AB EMPLOYEES TO MAKE THIS THE BEST AND MOST PRODUCTIVE BREWERY IN THE COUNTRY, IF NOT THE WORLD. (I hope they already are).
Positive actions will bring positive results! And, our AB employees might get to stay employed, while so many are losing their jobs in this country. As long as ABIB is still here in our area, employing hundreds of St. Louisians, I will continue to buy ABIB beers (and, some favorite Schafley Bottleworks beers). I’d hate to see those magnificent clydesdales leave! What fun it is to be on the Grant Trail, walking or biking, and see their young frolicking in their many pastures. How sad it would be to see those pastures turn into housing subdivisions.
And, while we’re talking BEER! Perhaps St. Louis needs a huge Octoberfest like they have in Munich, Germany! We are a world and national beer capitol! St. Louis sponsors too often plan major outdoor events when St. Louis is at its heat and humidity worst (July-August-early September) when no one wants to come here! Wouldn’t early October be a glorious time of the year here to drink beer and eat great fresh food? There is the small risk of rain -but if the event went on for 7 -12 days (like it does in Munich) maybe rain wouldn’t be a problem. St. Louis too often shows off its worst face instead of its best one. July, August and the first half of September are only good for swimming! All metropolitan area beers could be sold at such an event. The OctoberFest in Munich brings billions into their economy.

The best of all possible worlds would be for Imbev to stay here, get rid of the unions to save themselves and the employees money and help improve our airport because of our central location in the country.
Grovel all you want. I switched to Sam Adams.
I’m with you Dan S. No more Bud Light for me. From now on it’s Bass beer for me.
jp Bass is a InBev product
YEAH !
Get rid of them unions !
Back to the days of Jay Gould and David Parry !
Maybe ?Bev can steal those HR folk mentored by Sam Walton and perhaps some alumni of Phelps Dodge!
Maybe take tips from Pinkerton and the Homestead strike !
Bring the National Guard back from Iraq so it can “patrol” picket lines like the good ol’ days !
Check out the bio of Jack Whitehead from the library !
Heck - kids will work for less - and how about those despicable
“illegals?” Fill up Pestalozzi with ‘em ! They don’t need no stinkin’ benefits and minimum wage is too much for these people - and maybe they can improve the airport at the same time !
Centrist- Their goon squads are already busy “protecting” their union workers at other breweries they took over. They will be recruiting in this area soon enough. Wanna volunteer? Hey! Those Blackwater guys will be looking for work soon I hear.
The author of this letter is not wrong in spirit. AB is a foreign run company now, but the product is still here. In fact the new conglomerates North American headquarters is here. I don’t like the sale but we have to face facts, its done.
What are we afraid of In Bev doing? Above all else, massive job loss. Among other things, selling of vital pieces of the Busch tradition and heritage. None of that has started yet. And the product will HAVE to be made here. Its food product that has a short shelf life. They can’t import AB products to the US from Eastern Europe and still have a fresh product.
So boycotting from the off will be nothing more than a self fullfilling prophesy. If North American sales of AB products dip low then In Bev will have reason to cut jobs. It’ll be a self inflicted wound on the wourking class producers of their product.
So be level-headed about this. Until they start massive firings or until they shut down Grants Farm or sell off the Clydesdales, continue your consumption as normal. If you don’t, if we boycott now then those jobs will be on US. We can always boycott later. Otherwise, we’re going to shoot ourselves in the head.
Good Idea Centrist, kinda like Carl Icahn did with TWA. I guess breaking unions is the answer to all our problems.
Archbishop Raymond E. Burke has endured more unfair criticism than any
religious leader of any religious denomination. He is blamed for closing parishes when insufficient faithful has been able to afford keeping them
open. Add the priest scandal with roots far beyond his personal involvement
the breaking of a legal civil contract from 1891 bringing about a hiring of
a religious who has broken his vows and add devout religious women demanding
precedence set by Jesus Christ now be set aside in favor of their ordination. How much of this has been generated by writers without religious
authority. Has anyone mentioned the changes instituted and improvements
obtained in these circumstances. We go on throwing hypocrisy while the good
Archbishop moves on to higher ground. Thank you Archbisop you have been a
true Catholic in every respect and the majority thank you. God bless.
