St. Louis: Let’s dance

There’s magic in this city.  Just listen, and you can hear it.  Kim Massie, The Bel Airs, Jake’s Leg, Dogtown Allstars, Rhythm Rockers, and good old Bob Cuban.  Live music is not just for kids anymore.  All over St. Louis, at all hours of the day, there is every kind of music you could ever want to hear.  Family friendly, beautifully romantic, crazy and fun, whatever you want, it’s here.  In fact, one of the best free parties in town is happening every Tuesday with the delightful and hospitable Donn Johnson as host; Twilight Tuesdays baby.  Come on everybody, get off the couch, get out of the house, and let’s dance, dance, dance.

It’s Kuban, not Cuban.

I have been playing music in St Louis and beyond for the last 22 years. There used to be many more places to see all sorts of live music. It is just cheaper to hire a dj than to pay for a band. Too bad. I used to make a living playing music, nearly every night of the week. You can’t do that here anymore. I still have a great time as a weekend warrior as we are called. I agree with the letter writer, get out, go see some real musicians play some live music, dance and everyone have some fun.
