We need a real leader this time
What is a real leader? Someone that knows everything?Or someone that brings out the best in those around him or her? I think most can agree that the latter is a strong characteristic of a true leader. Speaking personally I have seen and witnessed this characterisitc in Barack Obama. It was in a small community room in a small town of 10,000. A young man showed up after winning his Illinois Senate seat. It was “town Hall” in its truest form. He spoke briefly about his appreciativeness of having the chance to serve this district, he fielded questions from the audience. He had comments, answers and suggestions to the people in the room, if he didin’t know the answer , he said it , promising he’d get back to them. He collected “names, business cards from those there to send a response. What I found most enlightning, was not his charismatic speech, but the challenge he put to us, his constituents, this Senate seat was not about him, he was there for us, but we had the responsiblity to see it work. He challenged us to “own” our government by voting, organizing, volunteering in our communities, neighbor to neighbor. That was how to get things done, that was how change woud come. And he wouldn’t take the credit, but we as participants in our government, could take the credit. That is LEADERSHIP, the kind we need. Please cast your Vote on Nove 4 for Barack Obama.

TWO GENUINE AMERICA NAMES - None of that Muslim Middle-Name stuff:
Timothy McVeigh
John McCain.
To Joan M. Padilla,
Thank you for an inspiring recollection, I hope that he proves to be the statesman that we both see now when he takes office. He’s got a tough row to hoe. His actions show that we all have to be involved. I forget which of our patriots said it but-”The price of democracy is eternal vigilance.”
When Christopher Buckley, Charles Krauthammer, George Will and David Brooks are supporting the Obama ticket, you know the wheels have come off the McCain campaign.
While Obama speaks of leadership and his commitment to peace, community and compassion in America, we have BushMcCain and Palin off in there own little world feeding red meat to their rallies where folks leave after Palin speaks and Mccain comes on stage.

Fair is fair Manuel, neither McVeigh or McCain had any part in hanging that “Hussein” tag on Obama. And if age is any defense to association with domestic terrorists, McCain was in his late 50’s when McVeigh bombed the federal building in Oklahoma City just as Obama was pre-pubescent when Ayers attacked the United States. If you have any evidence that McCain was kissing up to McVeigh at a later date, like Obama was with Ayers, let’s have it.
Joanie:
How were you able to finish your pablum without fainting? Did you also attend the commencement of such grand “LEADERSHIP” at the home of a terrorist? I assume you concur with Farrakhan that Barry Boy is the Messiah.
Sage–
Weren’t YOU among the Huessiensayers for a while ?
I know a number of the far right folks here posting were using that to claim Obama was a Muslim……. then a BAD CHristian …. then a terrorist…. all because of a middle name…
Thank goodness mine is Clarence

I was not among those who said Obama was a Muslim because of his middle name although I have used it to ridicule him because it’s the same name of a cowardly genocidal demon who hid out in an Iraq spiderhole and had every appearance of a registered Democrat when he emerged.
I vehemently deny using your middle name, “Clarence,” to ridicule anybody, one of my favorite pets in childhood was a Redbone Hound named Clarence, possibly because of his voracious appetite, outsized tongue or “hangdog, I’m guilty of something” facial expression.
The story of Palin and her corrupt handling of Troopergate should be another nail in the McSame presidential quest coffin. I still don’t understand why Obama doesn’t hammer away at McNasty’s history with Keating and the S&L debacle. These are just more pieces of evidence of McOldy’s inability to govern and make decisions in areas that require strength in governing, problem solving, and decision making.
By the way, JD is an idiot.
