Source those numbers on Catholics who voted against church teaching

Tim Townsend does not cite his source of poll information that declares that Barack Obama won the Catholic vote by 9 points (54% to 45%). despite a late attempt by Catholic Bishops to reinforce the church’s teachings on abortion rights. On one hand, I wonder where these numbers come from. I know no one called me to ask how I voted, no where did I see a list I had to sign that I was Catholic or a dot by my name or a different colored ballot indicating “Catholic”. Nor have I heard from anyone who is Catholic who voted having any such experience.

Where do numbers like this come from: A sample of 3000 people in the midwest, or 5000 exit polled in Minnesota? He did mention a Missouri exit pol Without specifics, the numbers are specious at best.

On the other hand, I don’t doubt that many Catholics voted against the teaching of their church.
Generally Mr. Townsend did a fine job of reporting. He left any bias at the door, one way or the other, no small feat when working for the Post-Dispatch.

It’s called statistics and are usually pretty accurate if performed correctly. Why are the “super religious” always surprised when everyone that does not vote the way they think others should?
What has Bush and the Republican controlled congress do for pro-life people from 2000-2006? While that is a main reason for voting Republican and nothing happened.
The bible-thumpers should be worried about saving their own souls and not some embryo that doesn’t even have a soul.

The Catholic News claims the majority of Catholics voted for Obama. So did the exit polls.

“On Tuesday, Catholics, who accounted for about a quarter of the electorate, supported Obama, at 54 percent, over McCain, at 45 percent.”

Bible thumpers Hmm thats new! Saving every one souls is the way God wants to be. Maybe you should do some soul searching yourself and remember God wants you to live in the way of love.Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband. So what is wrong with protecting God’s word.

If you are not saved by God, Than I will pray for your soul. Just ask yourself this what on earth will I be able to bring to God’s Kingdom in Heaven? My answer is my sould with all that s good and bad.

Hmm, I read about an interesting coincidence today. It is a bit strange and I hadn’t heard it until today. The strangeness of it makes it worth posting, if for no other reason than to note what an odd coincidence it is that the winning lottery numbers in Illinois on 11/5/08 were 6-6-6.

I did an internet search after I saw the article from Newsweek because I wasn’t sure if it was a joke or not, but I found several stories.

I still wasn’t sure if it was true or just a joke that has spread. Then I checked the Illinois Lottery site for 11/5/08 and the numbers were, in fact, 6-6-6.

I’ve said several times before that this campaign and election cycle were surreal. The lottery numbers confirm that opinion, I’d say. Weird.

Also, the evening Pick 4 numbers for the Illinois lottery on 11/05/08 were 777 9. I’ve read that 777 is the number for God and Heaven. We all know what the other number represents…

Strange. Very strange, indeed.

Or, somebody manipulated the numbers to suit their own agenda?

You can’t save the souls of those who don’t want saving. Beating people over their heads with the Bible, won’t change anyone’s mind. Thus the name “Bible thumper.”
I hate to break the hearts of all the super religious in Missouri, but the church is falling fast.
The most recent display of “God’s will” is all the raping of children and cover up by MANY in authority of the church. God save my soul?
No thanks, I prefer not to be saved by those that condone rape.
