Most of those who didn’t vote for Obama still want him to succeed

Forty-seven percent of Americans who voted in this year’s presidential election, for any number of reasons, did not vote for Barack Obama. But apparently to some, sour grapes are not forbidden political fruit.

No matter what is one’s political or life’s experience, the only experience that truly qualifies one to be President, is to have been President (or perhaps, Vice President). Merely sleeping in the same house with the person who gets that call at 3:00a, is not the same as getting that call - offense intended Hillary.

During the past 50 years, there have been five [Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton and Bush II] sitting Presidents that were re-elected/elected, and one Vice President [Bush I]. Isn’t it ironic that only one, Ronald Reagan, is widely held to have been even a really good President. History will show the others to be memorable for other reasons.

I do not disagree that Barack Obama is the least experienced person to be elected President in a lifetime. But one must remember that Abraham Lincoln also was very inexperienced and he is widely held to be one of the greatest Presidents ever. The long and short of it is, while experience is important, it is not necessarily the best indicator of who will or will not be a great, or even very good, President. Personally, I am more concerned that we have entrusted our future to most of the same 535 Congressmen and Senators who legislated us into the mess we are in now.

Sarah Palin - c’mon Dwight! We should all want President Obama to succeed and to succeed greatly. As one of the forty-seven percent, I know, I do.

I’m another of the forty-seven percent that supports the elected leader of our country. For eight years I have been exposed to immature hate mongers that howled and beat their breasts when history gave them better information than forecasts gave Bush when making decisions. He didn’t make all the decisions right but here’s a flash for you, nobody else has and Obama won’t either.

Icon-

Wait one moment you want to talk about 8 years of immature hate mongers. Lets talk about 8 years of Rush Limbaugh starting the first day of Clintons administration with “America Held Hostage, Day 1″ and incrementing that count each day. So the question becomes, with everything being held even, was the 8 years of Bush just being the 8 years of Clinton being parroted back at them. When conservatives start talking about the hate in the US and where did it begin perhaps they should look in a mirror.

By the way, I did not vote for Bush in 2000. But the next day I got up and though disappointed went to work and accepted the situation. My dislike for Bush was not in grown he had to earn my dislike for him has a President.

I have no idea what Rush Limbaugh said 16 years ago or even today. What I said was I support the duly elected President of the US and I saw 8 years of immature hate mongers. I’m not sure about hate mongering but it’s immature to justify any wrongful actions with “he did it first!”

Sage….and you’ve been such a strong supporter of bipartisanship. I’ll ask you again…How much praise would you give Al Gore had he served as President for the last eight years and was leaving the country with such foriegn policy turmoil, bin Laden still roaming and threatening, record deficits, and an economy with Wall-Street socialists bail-outs? Same as you’re giving that wonderful Texan?

You’re one of those die-hards who can’t admit you were wrong supporting Bush. Get over it.
