Obama can’t change his mind on being gay friendly

This is letter is in regard to Barrack Obama’s choice of Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration. Of course I’m happy that Mr. Obama will soon be our president, but there is one thing he does not seem to understand. One of the things that made the Bush administration so painful was the constant shock. It seemed that once a week Bush dropped some kind of bombshell on us, which was usually morally or legally questionable. Now I think we are all tired. We are worn down by the constant shock and frustration. So our next president needs to have an amount of predictability; we need to feel safe with him and to know where we stand. If Mr. Obama says he’s gay friendly, then he needs to make gay friendly choices all the time. Being jerked back and forth is going to crush us, especially in a time of sweeping gay marriage bans and other homophobic acts. It is especially imperative now that the new president sends a positive message that is clear and solid.
