America must change, and so must Americans

While corporate greed dominates Wall Street our elected leaders bend like weeds in the wind to the lure of easy money. The markets, we are told, police themselves. And while the pillars of the monetary world worked their magic, and the government entities stuck their heads in the sand but kept their palms out, we were busy hocking our futures and our kids futures. We leveraged our lives to credit card companies, finance companies, and title loan companies. We borrowed against our homes, IRA’s and 401’s. For what? What was so important?

Change is going to come. It has to if we are going to remain strong and viable among nations. It’s not just our government that needs radical change. You and I need it most. We have had our slap in the face. If we’re smart we’ll face reality.

We’ve become fat, dumb, apathetic, and broke. All of our own choosing. Our schools have failed it’s students. Justice is something to subvert. Our infrastructure is in shambles. The planet may be in peril. We have failed ourselves and the principles of our government in that we are not actively involved. Things are broken because we haven’t paid attention and are too timid and lazy to speak up. We can’t continue to be like the hula girl in the rear window nodding her head and smiling silently as if everything was fine.

Once we face reality and embrace change, we must exercise our power and demand accountability and responsibility from our government.

It’s morning in America, Billy. Change is coming. Water will be turned into wine when President Obama is sworn in.

Obama is inheriting the country from the previous administration…so that tells yo ual lyou need to know right there.

Someone becomes fat, dumb, apathetic and broke and a change in the Presidential Office is going to change that? I haven’t heard PE Obama mention personal responsibility once in all his words. Maybe someone can correct me on that, but that is where it starts.

Government is not the solution to a problem they helped create.

If change isn’t coming after 8 years of Bush, we’re in 3rd world status.

He stresses it everyday and you throw up a link from July? Couldn’t get any recent ones since he stresses it everyday? He hasn’t mentiong personal responsibility since JJ threatened to cut his nuts off.

Thanks for the link, but something tells me you didn’t read it. While it is true that mentioned responsibility to the NAACP, he also had a heavy dose of “the government’s going to help you in there.” Just once I want a politician to say, “quit waiting for your ship to come in, swim out there and meet the damn thing.” Sure wouldn’t win many votes, but damn I’d like to hear it.

Your 9:45 a.m. post states you want to hear Obama talk about personal responsibility just once.
As proud and ignorant as you are, the government subsidizes you too.
Stop with the superior racist attitude.
