Muslims removed from flight don’t need an apology
Regarding “Muslims taken off Jet get Apology”: On Saturday, I was reading this article and was wondering why two U. S. Muslim advocacy groups are so angry. After September 11, we as Americans were told to be observant for suspicious activity whether its aboard a plane or a bridge. On New Years Day, multiple passengers over heard a suspicious remark coming from one of the nine Muslims passengers. These passengers were concerned and alerted Air Tran employees who than took proper steps by alerting Air Marshals. Air Marshals then took proper steps in removing all nine passengers and conducting an investigation. All passengers were removed from the plane, re-screened and allowed to re-board. I applaud those passengers for being observant. Let us all understand we live in a dangerous world. We, as people, must be observant to prevent another 9\11 from happening. Therefore, no one is owed an apology for being inconvenienced. Together as people we will continue to win the war on terror.

Now please return to your regularly scheduled state of paranoia.
Michael: the problem is that once the FBI cleared them, the airline refused to rebook them on another flight. THAT is the problem. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? AirTran decided they were guilty, even after the FBI said there was nothing to be suspicious of.
hs, I bet Blago is wondering the same thing! Amazing how you guys think! So, why wasnt Burris allowed to join the senate? Considering what your thoughts are, I bet you have already forwarded you letters to the Secretary of State of Illinois, Harry Ried, Obama, and all those so concerned about Rod. By the way, Rod hasn’t even been indicted yet!
By the way, its a free country. If the people felt uncomfortable with the situation then I can’t blame them. Are they supposed to wait until they are at 10,000 feet first to find out differently? There are some dead folks from 9/11 who would probably do it differently if they were alive today.
Dave, I’ll say it again, and I think the interviews nailed it. The family was upset at being taken off the flight (who wouldn’t be?), but they understood what was happening. HOWEVER, the FBI interviewed them and cleared them, and then told AIRTRAN that they were Ok to fly. And Airtran still refused. THAT is the problem.
As far a Blago goes….
First, an impeachment is NOT a criminal case, it’s not really even a civil case. When Fitzgerald dropped his bombshell, it had the practical effect of making Blago unable to carry out his duties. The very fact of an accusation of payola for a Senate seat casts a cloud over the whole process. In a criminal sense, Blago IS innocent until proven guilty. However, stupidity is not a criminal offense, neither is lack of character.
Do I think the Senate should seat Burris? Absolutely, because Burris isn’t the problem here. Do I think that the House will impeach Blago? Yep, I do. He doesn’t have any friends there. Do I think the Senate will remove him from office? Probably. He doesn’t have any friends there either. He’s spent the last 6 years playing my way or the highway, and the state legislature has had enough, so they have found a pretext to remove him from office. Fitzgerald has to make the criminal case….which I think he’ll probably do…but the impeachment is a political act by a legislature that has had enough of Rod’s shenanigans.
I’m sick of the PC bulls**t about these so-called persecuted peaceful Muslims. The guy was wearing a militant Islamic shirt (the equivalent of yelling “bomb” on an airplane) and wonders why he was booted off the flight. He’s lucky that one of the passengers didn’t kick the s**t out of him. Profiling? Good…keep profiling - because I don’t know of any other race or religion of people blowing up airlines in the past 30 years. Young, Muslim, militant, male…that’s the profile.
When it comes to profiling I understand Gaucho completely. I get very fearful when a young, white, skinhead biker chick with a confederate flag tattoo on her chest walks into the bar.
I have no problem with profiling.
I do have a problem when the FBI clears the family and they still cannot get on the flight. It is kind of like the Muslim Secret Service Agent a few years ago who was on his way to join the Presidents security team and was denied a seat because the airline said that he met the profile.
Gaucho
I am not saying you are wrong but were did you find that the guy was wearing a militant Islamic T-shirt?
I found several articles and they all indicated that several passengers overheard and misinterpreted a remark. there was nothing aid about a militant T-shirt.
Yes, the warm and fuzzy religion of peace:

Enough said!
Centrist
Do you mean versus the Christian religion which had different sects killing each other in Ireland a few years ago or fought a war for 30 years in the 1600’s or whose members helped march Jews to concentration camps?
