The messiah is building a constituency. Unfortunately, you don’t need “skin in the game” to vote in this country.

No Carol, there are no “free benefits”. All of us will be required to ante a little more into the pot so that everyone can go to the doctor when they’re sick and schedule regular check-ups. Just like the rest of the developed nations in the world treat their citizens. By the way, I currently have excellent medical benefits from my employer.

You don’t understand mogoid. Some 50% of the population do not pay any income taxex. It’s really the 10-20% who pay all the taxes and it will be LOTS more to ante up to help take care of all the slackers. It’s nothing more than “share the wealth” that Nobama promised in the campaign.

Eventually, if the course correction doesn’t happen, they’ll start eliminating some of us for the sake of the rest of us. Sound like a harsh claim? Wait till you see the healthcare provisions in the stim-bill. If you’re old, and the prognosis is poor, the gov will say SOL to you. Best to not hitch your wagon to them, when given a choice.

Please people educate your self. The real problem is that the income tax is illegal and unconstitutional. The Fed is a private bank that issues our currency and loans it back to the government. The Constitution calls for the government to coin gold and silver. So we are all getting skinned and it is time that we demand answers and real change. Obama has the same security team at the pentagram as Bush. The same Ag’s, there is no change. The only real change is going to come when we march on Washington and shut that city down!

I’m sorry, but we’re headed toward fascism, Obama style. And by facism I mean one party rule. The Dems are pursuing one party rule by all means possible. First they will silence descent by shutting down conservative talk radio. They already control all other news outlets. Then they will grant amnesty to the twelve million illegal democrats already in the country. Next they will open up the borders and import as many new democrats as possible and grant them the right to vote. In the mean time they will have hijacked/corrupted the census so badly that no republican will be able to get elected anywhere. The Dems are going to control all three branches of the federal government for the next forty years after which this country will be “Third World” or worse. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this country is going the way of Mexico and California.

The liberals on this site don’t think it will happen to them since they are on the wacko side; they also believe Muslims won’t behead them when/if they take over this country.

Kitty - No argument w/ your framing. But what I think is missing from a sound understanding of fascism is the financial (for lack of a better word) side. The unique characteristic (as distinct from capitalism or communism) is that pseudo “private ownership” is still in place, but society – via the government – tells you exactly how to conduct business. We have long been drifting in that direction, and are now all but in the deep end of the pool. I always get push back on my claim about what fascism is and whether we’re there.

Fascism is where the centralized government funds private business so they can control the business. That is what Obama wants to do to the banks. He’s already done it to the auto makers.

Once this occurs, the federal government can dictate how many employees the company can hire, tell them they cannot fire people, how high a profit they can make, what they owe the federal government in taxes, how much the President of the company can make, etc.

We seem to already be there. Benito Mussulini did this in Italy.
