The economy wasn’t a depression until Obama made it so
This economic crisis wasn’t as bad as the depression until Obama made it so. He keeps comparing it to the depression so we don’t remember the economic downturn in the late 70s. His policies are now making things worse, and he wants it that way. This will enable him to keep blaming the Republicans, the free market and tax cuts for causing it all, and as long as it gets worse, the better his wealth redistribution agenda looks to Americans. The economic downturn in the 70s was cured by across the board tax cuts, and Bush saved us from an economic downturn after 9/11 by cutting taxes, it has proved to work.. Redistribution of money has never been proven to work, and along with the stock market non-belief in Obama’s plan, there will be no capital gains to tax, and the wealthy will be finding more tax shelters soon.

Then shame on the wealthy. What good is the money if all is lost. God help President Obama, he cares about all of the people. Unlike GW Bush who catered to his elite base.
Ed,
No sir. An elitist thinks he or she knows what’s best for everybody, how to live, where to work, how much salary, how to spend your money, how much to redistribute, pretty much dictates everything, etc… Sort of like BHO. So, given that porky pig part 2 just passed the left controlled senate, with the exception of a few republican votes(not conservatives), I would say our current President, house and senate leaders are the elitist.
Not only is this bumbling amateur making things worse, he’s trying to deflect attention from the terrible mess he’s in by demonizing Rush Linbaugh.
first of all the economy STILL isn’t as bad as the Depression and second if you really believe a President’s policies can turn the economy around if 40 days you are really naive. My guess is all you conservatives had absolutely no problem blaming the worsening economy in 1981-1982 on Carter instead of the man who inherited it–Ronald Reagan. But now that Obama has inherited it from Dumbya he is supposed to have it cured in 6 weeks. Get real!

Thats Saint Rush , to you …
In a recent poll by MSNBC (the most liberal of cable channels), 57% of over 73,000 respondents gave Obama an F for his first 6 weeks in office. Another 11% gave him a D. So, some 68% give him a failing grade.
In a Rasmussen tracking poll, 57% give him a failing grade. I guess a lot of people are starting to open their eyes to just what an amateur this guy is.
Just don’t hold your breath waiting for this news article to appear in the PD.
please provide a link for that twacapt. Every other poll done has Obama with between 58-70% approval rating. If people consider that a “failing grade” then Bush didn’t even get into school. My guess is this is more BS from the folks on this site who claim to have proof that Obama wasn’t born in the US. Blinded by hatred is a bad way to be.
“Blinded by hatred is a bad way to be.”
Similar to the Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) we experienced over the last 8 years. Oh, now the shoes on the other foot, you say. This is our neo-Marxist so, “Leave him alone.”
Typical of the Socialists like skahtt, it’s OK if I call your president “Hitler,” but don’t call my neo-Marxist, a Marxist.
Sorry Tango, you don’t know me. I’m not a socialist and I supported Bush the first few years of he was in office. In fact most Americans at one point supported Dubya–he went from an approval rating of 80% to 20%. Are we all “deranged”?
And even after he lost my support I respected him as the President of the USA–I never called him “Hitler”.
I wonder what the line would have been if McCain had won. It was headed down either way, no matter WHAT. I’m sure they would have blamed it on a liberal congress, or Bill Clinton, or Carter…
Sorry kids, but the economic downturn (and the monumental stock crash of 700 points) began when Bush was president - not saying it’s his fault either (but if you remember, every time Bush appeared on TV, the stocks took a tumble too). This mess belongs to banks and mortgage companies - it’s like a vicious cycle that keeps collapsing inward as more and more businesses go under, people lose their jobs and stop buying, so more and more of THOSE businesses fail, etc.
I’m sure it’s probably tempting for conservatives currently licking their wounds from the last election to now point to the recession as an Obama-created problem, but nobody’s buying it. Let’s wait for longer than a month and a half and see what happens.
