Take the cheap shot, but at least be accurate
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The least C C Campbell could do while taking a cheap shot at Notre Dame is accurately state President Obama’s discussion of abortion at that great University. He did not ask those who opposed abortion to change their views while not changing his view that women should have a choice. Instead he said there was something they could all agree on, which was to reduce the number of abortions. This was greeted with a standing ovation. As to those who protested outside the campus, some of whom traveled long distances, their presence always raises questions in my mind.
Questions like: Are all these people rich or unemployed so as to be free to take off a week for the protest? Are they professional protesters? Do those signs look professional and has the whole event been choreographed like a dance macabre?
Did these same prolife advocates protest the Honorary Degree given to George W Bush in 2001 by this same University? After all as Gov. of Texas he presided over more excecutions than any other Governor in history and some of those executed were later found to have been innocent. I read the Post Dispatch every day and get three major news magazines and don’t recall any protests other than one by anti death penalty groups. Where were all those “all life is sacred” troops then? The Pope and the rest of the heirarchy were strangely silent back then.
One other point, Roe v Wade is currently the law of the land and therefore the President is required to follow the law, same thing the previous administration repeatedly ignored. I’m sure Mrs Campbell wrote a similar column protesting a degree for President Bush. Perhaps now would be a good time for the Post to run that one for the sake of comparison.

How about this Francis. How about just plain not murdering un-born babies.Have you seen and abortion picture with pieces of a CHILD torn to bits? How about your children if you have any…did you murder any of your children? Un-born? Its MURDER! Say it MURDER!:(
Miss Carr, could you possibly point out one thing Mr. Obama has done while in Illinois or the U.S. Senate and now as president that he has done to reduce abortions? I rest my case mam.
Good points….I am sure you raised the same questions about Code Pink (Your question: “Are all these people rich or unemployed so as to be free to take off a week for the protest? Are they professional protesters? Do those signs look professional and has the whole event been choreographed like a dance macabre?”). By the way, I believe it’s “danse macabre”, college kid…but then again, I went to the University of the Infantry, so I may be wrong…
Another quote from you…I’ll rebut in a second…”One other point, Roe v Wade is currently the law of the land and therefore the President is required to follow the law, same thing the previous administration repeatedly ignored”
My rebuttal: at one point, slavery was also the “law of the land”…I guess your position would be SHAME ON ABRAHAM LINCOLN for refusing to follow adhere faithfully to that particular law.
Your next quote (don’t you hate it when you are held to account for the things you say?? lol):
“Did these same prolife advocates protest the Honorary Degree given to George W Bush in 2001 by this same University? After all as Gov. of Texas he presided over more excecutions than any other Governor in history and some of those executed were later found to have been innocent”. Comparing the relative worth of the lives of innocent babies, which in my opinion, ARE sacred, to the lives of convicted murderers, is sick. Shame on you. Even the most pro-abortion people I have met have never tried to compare fetuses to Charles Manson, but you just blazed a new trail. Good on you, I guess.
Now, let’s either see you try to squirm your way out of your inconsistencies, or, as usual, subject us to the routine liberal rejoinder: “Well…that’s different!!, start crying, and then sic the P-D and the ACLU on me.
Mr. Centrist -
“i” is male, whereas “e” is feminine.
Unless -
You were being snarky…
No! Not thou!
And Mr. Tim -
A danse by any other name is still a dance; both words are accepted when using “macabre” as the second word.
Unless - you are referring specifically to Saint-Saëns’ Dance Macabre or King’s book.
Aacckk -
I referred to the English translation of the first word of Saint-Saëns’ piece!
Of course, it should be “Danse Macabre.”
Mea culpa, Mr. Tim!
Like I said, Thomas, I might be wrong!! lol
Have a great weekend!!
Tim
Abortion would be made a thing of the past. All we have to do is make birth control mandatory. It would also solve a few other problems. like “honey I’m pregnant.
As far as the inmate population. Any one in jail for 20 to life should be executed. Why would we warehouse scum, only to release them latter? Time in jail should be hard time. Hard labor would mean less trouble in what was left of the regular prison population.
TicTac
Except in Texas where the odds of being convicted for something you DIDN’T do are apparently pretty high.
C C Campbell is one scary person. Not only is she a reigh-wing nutcase, but she”s a religious loon reich-winger. SCARY!!
