Billingsly is only regurgitating twisted talking points
Any further political commentary from Z. Dwight Billingsly should be moved to the Comic Section. Billingsly’s political commentary, published on Thursday, May 28, is evidence thereof. His writing has been reduced to the clichéd talking points of the Republican propaganda machine, which have become morosely humorous due to their incessant regurgitation and hyperbolic twisting of historical events.
For instance: Billingsly begins his anti-Obama psychobabble with the premier Republican talking point; that George W. Bush kept America safe after the 9-11; that Obama is risking the safety of Americans via poor security policy, etcetera. The element of this argument never cited by Republicans is the FACT that Bush was president on 9-11 and many months prior thereto. It too was Bush who ordered the CIA to reduce the daily presidential intelligence briefing memo to one page. Obviously Bush couldn’t be troubled reading comprehensive reports concerning the security of America! Also, it was Bush who disregarded CIA warnings that terrorists were planning to use commercial aircraft to attack American cities; information given to him months prior to the 9-11 attacks. And it was Bush who sat blissfully dumbfounded on a child’s chair in a grade school classroom while Americans watched in horror as terrorists attacked New York and Washington.
Yup! George W. Bush kept us safe! You betcha!

Z. Dwight Billingsly is one of a number of paid Republican operatives who flood the Post-Dispatch and the message boards at stltoday.com with their talking points. The Republican Party has become extremely irrelevant, but they still have to spew their propagand in order to get paid. They are unable to think for themsleves, as they are all mind numb robots that are programmed by Rush and the hate-mongers at Faux News. While I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories, BuchCo knew that 9-11 was going to happen, and let it happen. It was the reason that they needed to go not only into Afghanistan, but the illegal invasuion of Iraq.
Any further comments by the Post Disgrace’s “editorial staff” should also be moved to the comic section, as they are nothing more than regurgitated left wing moonbat talking points.
Way to go Dwight. I didnt get a chance to read it yet but if you irritated these libs, as you have, then it must have been full of facts. We all know just how much libs hate facts.
Who cares what the “old white male party thinks? The GOPERS are totally irrelevant.
Have to agree, Billingsly is a made up hack.
Nobody is that right wing whackered.
Dave–
Somebody must have hijacked your id. I know YOU wouldn’t say that you had no idea what an article said but if it made your political opponants mad, you firmly supported and believed it.
Oh wait
That’s what happens when you listen to Rush …
Nevermind
Billingsly ended is editorial by claiming we should follow Dick Cheney’s lead.
O.K., Cheney just announced he favors same-sex marriage.
Thanks Dwight.
Republican talking points…..please. Liberals are the kings (or maybe the queens) of talking points. Conservatives prefer to take the road of facts and principles. Please someone explain to me what principles the liberals believe in? Other than not being conservative of course. Being simply opposite is not very creative.
And stop with the Rush bashing. Listen to him or Hannity for a couple of hours sometime and see if your warped mind can disagree with simple common sense philosophy. If everyone thought and acted like conservatives there would be no crime and no welfare. What a terrible world that would be! This is of course putting aside the occasional crazy loon that kills aboration doctors. Killing is wrong no matter how you slice it.
Being an African American Republican is hard enough, but leave it to Billingsly and Clarence Thomas thoughts on what’s black and what’s not
to make you ashamed of being both Black and a republican!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can say every Black Republican is not following the White man’s dream
(Thomas and Billingsly - “Massa wees don need no civil rights”)
There are some of us following the American Dream (Obama) and I worked on his voting rights team election day.
It’s a fact slavery happened, it’s fact that lynching happened, it’s fact Mr Byrd was dragged to death in this era, it’s facr that racism happens!
I like seeing people like you get pissed off when an Obama, Tiger Woods, Thurgood Marshall, Benjamin Davis, Tuskegee Airmen and Frederick Douglas happen because then you can see all those who were hiding instead of fighting for their freedom and rights and then have the nerve to say it did’nt happen come forward
There’s a difference between being black and being a coward Billingsly and Thomas and others like them are cowards that won’t tell the truth!!!!!!!!
So, superdave what facts should I hate uncle Toms or President Obama?
Michael,
The FACT, as you so ineloquently capitalized it, is that after 9/11, no further terrorist attacks took place on US soil. Let’s hope President Obama’s administration is as successful.
The FACT is that after the contentious 2000 election, Democrats held up many key Bush appointments for months, seriously impeding the new Administration’s ability to assemble a national security/intelligence team. (It probably took some time just unsticking all the computer keys and replacing all the stolen furniture in the White House after the Clinton’s going away party.)
The FACT is that prior warnings were vague at best re specific threats or targets. Maybe you’ve conveniently forgotten that at the time of the attacks, the FBI was actively searching for some of the highjackers, and that others were actually stopped by airport screeners before eventually being allowed on the doomed flights? Are you equally willing to excoriate President Clinton for not thwarting the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993? (Maybe he was with a woman in the Oval Office and was being “blissfully dumbfounded”.)
The FACT is that President Bush was visiting a grade school on September 11, 2001 in his role as President of the United States. Maybe you think he should have been in the control tower at Reagan National anticipating an imminent flyover. (Note to President Obama: Sir, steer clear of grade schools. They affect your threat perception. Better to stick with the late-night talk shows with Jay, Dave, or Conan.)
You did, however, manage to make one accurate statement. Yup! George W. Bush kept us safe! You betcha! (Love all those exclamation points!!)
