Here come the straw man arguments from the right wing about Canadians and Great Britons that had to wait days upon days for life saving surgeries…or who opted to have teeth pulled instead of waiting months for a dental appointment.

Outside of that, why would anyone support for-profit insurance companies when it comes to health care reform? Right wingers talk about government bureaucrats making health decisions, which wouldn’t happen, as opposed to clerks barely making above minimum wage in a call center who approve/deny care based on a matrix they have in front of them?

The one system isn’t working, might as well try the other.

What is wrong with both systems? If some citizens would like to pay for government care, by all means, let them. And they can subsidize everyone else who uses it. If other citizens would like to use private or a more capitolistic approach, so be it. It’s a win win!!

Health costs are out of line, but thinking we need to be like Europe is nuts. I have been to Europe and needed to go to a hospital in England and in Portugal. Maybe some of you should try it before buying it.

The only thing that comes out of profits is hard work. This ain’t right and ain’t the way the country is heading. When you can sit on your azz and get paid the same as working hard, that is what I am talking about. So healthcare should not be run by anyone looking for a profit. That is our problem now, these doctors are working so hard for profit that they make mistakes and that is the only reason they get sued so much. I agree with Showme, our healthcare system sucks compared with other countries, when I get sick I goto Russia or Great Britain. The nonprofit attitude over there makes their care some of the best in the world, the doctors are more relaxed and never get sued. I agree with Carnage, here come the straw man arguments from the wacko right. Like that actress in Canada who died from that brain clot, the right wing wackos think she died because it took her 5 hours to get to a neurosurgeon. What do you have against competition? The reason health care is more expensive has so little to do with the insurance companies or the health care system. It has so much to do with government regulation. You now have states telling insurance companies what they must provide in benefits. You have trial lawyers standing in line to sue every doctor or drug company they can find so their clients can win the lottery.
