They want us to be distracted
Am I the only one who finds it ridiculous that in light of all the problems we as a country and a world face, we are still fiercely debating the comments of a comedian? People should really take two steps back and look at the big picture. The fact that David Letterman trashed a political figure’s unwed pregnant daughter is news? Get serious. In the age of pedophile priests, gang warfare, corrupt businessman and politicians, the collapse of the American auto industry, a broken healthcare system, and a “war on drugs” that is a complete money siphoning joke, this is what people spend time worrying about? Is it any wonder politicians don’t listen to anybody who doesn’t have a hand in their re election? We have became a distracted nation.
Political figures count on all of us becoming distracted, that’s when they do their dirtiest work. People need to start worrying about important things. Like holding politician’s feet to the fire. And why the price at the pump goes up while the price of a barrel of oil goes down. How does that work? Big oil just loves it when everybody gets distracted by nonsense. Just like a seasoned politician.

2keysmatt-My bad, thought they got married. Either way, don’t see you acknowledging the many false premises Joe produced, only my little oops, so what’s the deal?
raygun-Wish I could say you were missed, but it’s been quite pleasant without your crass and inguinal jeremiads. BTW…we’re trying to stay on topic here.
LOL–
The Gamecock is TRYING to keep on topic here, not EVEN talking about fish & tomatoes….
“The Obama Administration is destroying our economy and jobs so you cant get a job.”
You’re absolutely correct! None of this started before 1/20/09. Bush didn’t bailout, I mean Socialize, anyone!
Neocons love to forget that this started during the previous administartion.
By the way “my side” is the Independent side that decides who wins elections, I am neither Democrat, nor Republican, mostly because Bible-thumpers like Palin scare me.
Joe Hogan-Agree 100%.
Americans obsessed with Anna Nicole Smith, Brittney Spears, and poor Bristol Palin are a joke. The David Letterman joke was just a joke. Get over it and move on. He apologized but Saran needs to keep herself in the spotlight so she can continue her campaign for upcoming elections.
She exploited her children during the election and gets what she deserves. She brought it on herself and is to blame for any jokes made about her kids. She should apologize to her children for dragging them around the country and bringing that redneck Alaskan Levi Johnston through her desire to be Vice President. Sarah Palin is scarry! God help us if she ever gets elected. Anyone with a brain can see that Sarah is lacking the smarts to be President.
Dr. De-Bunk,
You arrogance is coming out again. Your drug suggestions like xanax and toking the bong are very mature. How did you get so Smart and capable of knowing-it-ALL? Did you take lessons from Iconclastic Sage, Gamecock 1999, or Tango Golf Goof? Deflate you ego and come on down to REALITY!
“Are you people that afraid of her?”
I’m not afraid of her personally, but I am afraid of her getting into the Oval Office. To me she is the female version of Bush to the power of 10. Anyone who doesn’t see this FACT is simply put, stupid. Lettermans joke is just that, a joke. Comics make tasteless jokes all the time. Hell I laughed a lot when I heard it. I did and do the same when I hear jokes about democrats too. The essence of comedy is someone else’s pain. This is definately all a little bit of pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, and Palin milked it for every drop she could get.
“How did you get so Smart and capable of knowing-it-ALL?”-debra-
-Thanks for noticing. My parents, mostly. They were responsible for my genetic make-up, as well as the nurturing, education, and benevolent discipline required to reach any genetic potential.
-The rest was just hard work and self discipline to achieve.
-BTW, do you think Joe is losing his composure over the 24/7 MJ
coverage? Know how you libs like to poke fun at the “drug-addicted”,
such as Limbaugh and Beck. Now we have a truly addicted pedophile being raised to a status formally reserved for the Obama by the msm and their acolytes. Do you see any paralell?
-Sincerely concerned for Joe, as he shows symptoms of high-anxiety, possible bipolar disorder. Xanax is one solution.
-The bong reference was for those libs who I’ve known in my life who
sacrifice all worldly goods and hopes of fulfillment to the evil weed. Knew so many like this in school, always glazed, yet all-knowing while never opening a book or paying attention during lecture.
In all seriousness, the biggest problem was Letterman’s people screwed up. Had they known WHICH daughter came to the game with her, the joke would probably not been told. Regardless, as has been pointed out previously in posts, Obama had asked that his children be left out of the spotlight. That should be carry for all of these high profile children. In my view, Obama should have been first in line to condemn Letterman. True the children have always been targets of jokes but the public official should be the target. It’s not like there’s not enough out there to use as ammunition for a joke, there politicians after all. Above all, these children didn’t ask for the attention, it comes from the situation the parents chose to put them in.
Do you guys think the democrat leadership killed Michael Jackson in order to ram through the cap and tax bill while Michael was getting all the pub?
1300 pages, voted on in one day….How many elected leaders read the bill?
Hint: Garrison’s IQ level….

No, it was clearly the Republican leadership who did it to get the guy (who had an affair) who thought President Clinton should resign for having an affair off the front page….
Appalachian Trail indeed…
