Cap and trade really is a tax scheme
So the STL Post has the knowledge to pronounce without doubt that global warming is a reality. You are right and all who disagree are wrong. That is startling since the scientific community is not yet convinced. Even at that your suggestion is it is human caused. More condescendingly yet you suggest humans can fix it. Those people who think that suffer from the arrogance that humans are so significant in this universe they can alter it.
I suspect we will learn that if global warming is taking place it is some natural climate temperature cycle and not human caused. The climate has been warming since the last Ice Age 12,000 yrs ago, with occassional returns to cold cycles of oh a hundred years or so. More ego deflating than that is there is nothing humans can do to change it if it is happening.
Reading on your real purpose here is to promote Obama’s hare brained “cap and trade” legislation which is really the largest tax increase in the history of the world. The real purpose is to generate the money to pay for his social spending programs. The ill effects of this stimulus spending will pale in light of cap and tax which would bring our economy to its knees with European style big government, slow growth and social welfare spending.
I think enough of your Democrats see the reality of this as a tax scheme and enough will have the good sense and sink it. And if they do not come 2010 tax payers will reduce their ranks to a manageable size and get some sanity back into government.

The Post Dispatch, and the left in general, has no problem warning us that environmental disaster will confront future generations, and ignore any science and/or opinions that negate same. However, they ignore the absolute certainty that we are spending these same future generations into certain bankruptcy, third world madness, starvation, and even worse.
Well since the left pays less and less in taxes why would they care?
Seriously, so many in our electorate are too stupid to figure this out. What does that say about our electorate? How many know that Al Gore is making out like a bandit? That kind of goes hand in hand with that crook!
8500 pages of bills by Congress since 1/20. We will have no choice but to simply ignore some / most /all of this lunacy. How is it that people are supposed to know and obey their masters, when the masters don’t even know what they decreed?
What amazes me here is that the Democrats are supposed to be the educated elite and in general despise the industrial/goverment media complex, yet they support a bill that will only end up lining the pockets (again) of the elitists in this country and the poor once again will take it in the shorts and be even more subjugated with taxes and fees. When will these people wake up and realize that they are being taken to the cleaners? It is so sad to see what a self-destructive course these people live.
