Climate change deniers follow typical but strange pattern
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Mr. O’Toole’s skeptical letter on global warming follows a typical but strange pattern. He denies that it’s happening and admits that it’s happening (but it’s natural). Let me address his errors. First, global temperatures have NOT cooled in the last decade. Here is what global-warming deniers must do to make this claim (other than outright lying): 1998 was an extremely warm year, so they compare the average temperature of the last ten years to 1998. This allegedly shows that temperatures are cooling. Unfortunately for them, if they select 1997, they must admit that every year since then has been hotter. If they select 1999, they must admit the same thing. If they choose ANY year on record prior to 1998, they must admit that every year after 2000 has been warmer. Only 1998 works for them. Scientists use all the data. They don’t pick and choose. As for the increased ice at the South Pole, warmer temperatures have allowed more precipitation to fall in the form of snow. As for climate changing naturally in the past, well, forest fires occur naturally too. That does not mean we don’t cause forest fires. If projections of 5°C warming in this century are realized, we will experience about the same warming that occurred over a 5 thousand year period at the end of the last ice age. That is not natural!

I sign off a 7:00 pm everyday, and almost 12 hours have gone by since the most moronic post I have ever seen appeared. Garrison, you actually posted that “Did you ever notice many of the same people who deny the truth about climate change also question Germany’s extermination of the Jews in 1930?” Please, either justify this or sign off for good.
Doubting,
-Not shocked that Garrison would do that, considering his history…called him out on it earlier, but guess he’s hiding under the floorboards with the other cockroaches. Good catch.

I have read studies that said if the electrical grid that we currently have was brand new and continued pumping out at maximum capacity, that within 10 years we will be far short of our needs.
Everything is moving to using more electricity at the moment. PC’s to servers to mainframes are leading the charge. A more powerful computer uses more electricity. Modernize a factory and you use more electricity. Buy something new for the home and there is a good chance it will need more electricity. If electric power cars take off then there will be a boom in the demand for electricity. Look at Bill Gates House. You can wear a small badge. As you go from room to room the badge is read and the lights are adjusted to how you like it and if you like music the correct music starts playing. If each home has just 10% of what Gates has in his home then electrical demand would spike.
So Ge and other providers of the equipment are looking forward to bright futures. Not only because as you pointed out the current system is aging and needs to be replaced, but also the additional demand for electricity will fuel the coffers for GE.
The reason everything is down for GE is the uncertainty of the economy. Once that turns around and the demand for electricity goes back up, then GE will recover. At the same time the cost will be passed on to the consumer. So what is good for GE is not necessarily good for the consumer.
Doubting
I will admit that the comparison made me squirm, I would not have done so.
At the same time I have found you so willing to justify the postings by the right wing that I do not call on him to retract what he said.
Anyone see where Palin is quitting as Governor by the end of the month.
According to a statement put out by her office she does not want to be involved in lame duck politics. Her term ends in 2010 so she is quitting at least 6 months early.
Bob: Who on the right here has questioned Germany’s extermination of the Jews in the 1930’s? Some things are beyond the pale. One hint of justification for this comment? Where are you Garrison. Let’s hear it. I don’t know what Palin is doing. I am shocked.
Doubting
I did not say on this subject. On other subjects you have called people to question for their statements. Yet when those on the left make the same types of statements you can always find a reason not to call them out. You and your friends like to call me the twister. Well you are the mangler when it comes to justifying any statement made by the conservatives.
Doubting,
—That dog, Bob is off his leash. But not apparently on his meds, be careful
getting close to him. His bite is worse than his bark.
Look, what’s happened in the past has happened. I think I can justify everything I have said. This is different. This clown Garrison crossed the line by so far, it can’t go unchallenged. Where are you Garrison? Let’s hear one hint of holocaust denial by anyone on the right, by anyone else who doesn’t believe in the global warming hoax, or anyone else, other than the leader of Iran. Perhaps some of you other libs, care to make Garrison’s case?
Asti Lavista amigos totales…
Everyone have a safe and pleasant holiday, and somebody put Bob back on his leash!
