Climate change deniers follow typical but strange pattern

Mr. O’Toole’s skeptical letter on global warming follows a typical but strange pattern. He denies that it’s happening and admits that it’s happening (but it’s natural). Let me address his errors. First, global temperatures have NOT cooled in the last decade. Here is what global-warming deniers must do to make this claim (other than outright lying): 1998 was an extremely warm year, so they compare the average temperature of the last ten years to 1998. This allegedly shows that temperatures are cooling. Unfortunately for them, if they select 1997, they must admit that every year since then has been hotter. If they select 1999, they must admit the same thing. If they choose ANY year on record prior to 1998, they must admit that every year after 2000 has been warmer. Only 1998 works for them. Scientists use all the data. They don’t pick and choose. As for the increased ice at the South Pole, warmer temperatures have allowed more precipitation to fall in the form of snow. As for climate changing naturally in the past, well, forest fires occur naturally too. That does not mean we don’t cause forest fires. If projections of 5°C warming in this century are realized, we will experience about the same warming that occurred over a 5 thousand year period at the end of the last ice age. That is not natural!

I know you have signed off, but get real when you ask for support from Dave who thinks he is super. That guy can find a liberal plot to ruin this country anywhere he wishes. A few examples the other day he was screaming about how Democrats are ruining the cities of course you agreed using just that cities started to decline in the 1960’s. However, he used KC has an example of how things were being done correctly. He of course failed to note that KC had a Democrat for mayor and had one for nearly 20 years. My favorite was when he tried to blam3e liberals for the demise of the big 3 using the argument that most conservatives that he knows own American cars and liberals owned the foreign cars.
You lack standards, you and Dave who is less than super, can justify anything a conservative does. However, let a liberal do the same and OMG they have brought and end to civilization. So get real.
Bob, who is sissy, is at it again. I mentioned that because of the Democrat rule of St. Louis that the city has gone down in population and KC is now considered a larger city. Unfortunately he cannot comprehend or he just is lying, which is no surprise. I guess when you cant even get the facts straight these things will happen. We Conservatives have to keep these liberal idiots in check. I wonder if he is still living off the taxpayer yet or did he get a job yet. As for lying you own the title. You are either lying or denying. You keep pointing to STL and how the inept Democrats of ran that city down. You also point to KC and suggest that they have their act together.
Yet what you still fail to acknowledge is that the Democrats have ran KC for nearly 20 years. So when you point to KC and say that they know what they are doing you are saying the Democrats know what they are doing.
It is very noticeable when you point to STL you always mention the political party and you use it has proof that Democrats have ruined the cities. At the same time when you point to KC you leave out that KC is also ran by the Democrats. If you did then it would destroy your argument about how democrats cannot run a city.
It is also funny that this came as a bigger discussion of the cities and their problems. Yet all you see is political parties. You cannot see the many and various problems encountered by the cities as sprawl happened, not just in STL but other places as well.
Why all of a sudden he is whipping up such a frenzy over STL not being the biggest city in Missouri is beyond me since this is 9 year old information. I guess he needs something to complain about.
Of course he fails to mention that the STL SMA is the largest in Missouri. He also failed to mention that Missouri has been losing population, with some of the largest drops coming under Republican governors. However, that would not help his argument so he chooses to ignore such facts. Ge could not continue his tirade against the Democrats if he acknowledged such facts.
After all how serious can you take someone who tried to blame the big 3 problem on liberals buying foreign cars while conservatives were buying domestic.

superdave, to bring it back to a discussion about global warming, reading your comments suggests to me that you believe 2 things, and that those 2 things prove that it’s all a hoax.
First, you argue that because the research is funded by those who stand to profit from a particular finding, then the research is tainted. Really? It seems that for most of the last 10 years, the bulk of the research has been funded by government agencies that have been led by figures who WERE deniers, and yet the published results have been dominated by findings that it’s real. At a larger level, you suggest that a profit motive taints the research. Doesn’t that suggest that to you science should be a communist/socialist enterprise?
Second, you argue that because the numbers are so small (a few parts per million) they MUST not be significant. Dave, have you read the research, understood the test protocols, and developed this conclusion independently? Have you, personally, read anything about HOW that conclusion was arrived at? You argue that even if atmospheric CO2 IS increasing, there is no proof that human activity is leading to the change. Really? What about the isotope studies that show that the proportion of the particular carbon isotopes in coal is increasing in the atmosphere? The only way those carbon isotopes can increase in the atmosphere is by the combustion of coal.
I could go on.
Okay, I have to give it up. Man-made global warming is a left-wing hoax. Sure the earth’s average temperature has been rising steadily for over forty years now, but so what? We’ll manage. I once saw this episode of ‘Outer Limits’ and people in the future were saved by musical pulses sent from deep space that caused them to undergo physical transformation allowing them to go outside without baking, so don’t tell me it can’t happen!

It’s so ridiculous to spend time on leftist idiots who dont have a mind of their own. If you goofs cannot do the research and follow the money trail then there is nothing I can do. In the history of our world there have been fools like you and the leaders have NO problems taking advantage of you. So, keep it to yourself but please dont spread the manure on the rest of us.
