Climate change deniers follow typical but strange pattern

Mr. O’Toole’s skeptical letter on global warming follows a typical but strange pattern. He denies that it’s happening and admits that it’s happening (but it’s natural). Let me address his errors. First, global temperatures have NOT cooled in the last decade. Here is what global-warming deniers must do to make this claim (other than outright lying): 1998 was an extremely warm year, so they compare the average temperature of the last ten years to 1998. This allegedly shows that temperatures are cooling. Unfortunately for them, if they select 1997, they must admit that every year since then has been hotter. If they select 1999, they must admit the same thing. If they choose ANY year on record prior to 1998, they must admit that every year after 2000 has been warmer. Only 1998 works for them. Scientists use all the data. They don’t pick and choose. As for the increased ice at the South Pole, warmer temperatures have allowed more precipitation to fall in the form of snow. As for climate changing naturally in the past, well, forest fires occur naturally too. That does not mean we don’t cause forest fires. If projections of 5°C warming in this century are realized, we will experience about the same warming that occurred over a 5 thousand year period at the end of the last ice age. That is not natural!

It is interesting talking to Zero Dave.
He has told me that I think I know everything. Yet he has given his opinion on Education, Business, Taxes, what he would consider give aways to those that do not deserve them, Crime, the cities and why Democrats ruined them, politicians, climate, health insurance, the media, family, children, who are pedophiles, why liberals do not deserve to celebrate the 4th, the constitution, and I am sure that I am forgetting some.
He says that he is for the children and speaking out on their behalf, the insinuation is that others are not. This came about during an exchange on education. Evidently if you do not agree with him that the public schools should be abolished then you are just pandering to unions and the politicians, evidently he believes no one can have a valid alternative opinion.
He is one that likes to point out that opposition is the purest form of democracy. Evidently that is only true if he is opposing you, if it is the other way then you are unpatriotic.
He is quick to demand answers and quick to declare victory if you do not answer. He is slow to answer questions, if he does at all.
He says he talks in generalities. Evidently if he calls 50 to 100 million people a disease then they are not to take it personally. Only when a person is named is it personal.
He was quick in the past to claim that liberals are trying to start class warfare. Yet he is also quick to point out that I cannot find a job. He does it in such away to suggest that if one is unemployed their opinion counts for less than his does.
He appears to only count wages as income, for even though I point out that I am paying my bills through investments he suggests that I am a burden on society because I have no current wages. He never answered my question as to if that means retired people living off of investments are a burden on society.
He is the ultimate victim.He is supporting everybody with his taxes. The fact that his car was broken into proves that cities have been ruined by democrats. You name it and he was a victim of it.
Every subject that comes up, everything negative is the fault of liberals. The one I liked the best was liberals are at fault for the Big 3 having problems. Accord to Less than Zero most conservatives buy American made cars but most liberals bought foreign made cars.
Yes he is a strange one and yet others like Doubting,,, looks to him to verify their opinion. He has two sets of rules one for himself and one for everyone else.

We can do this all day but it wouldn’t matter. You people believe anything you hear. You are so arrogant to think that we have that much power. You go ahead and keep believing the “Sky is Falling” theory, and I will stand back and laugh. In the mean time though, Al Gore gets filthy rich, all our energy costs will rise because of the silly cap and trade bull, and our taxes will skyrocket. Oh, lets not forget that we will be driving lawn mowers around due to the fact that this President is taking full advantage of this hoax to raise your taxes.

If we get rid of carbon dioxide, how will trees live? If our trees die, what will happen to humans?
If I put ice in a glass, and it melts..does the water level go up? If an iceberg melts, does it increase the volume of the ocean?
Each side can provide scientists to debunk eachother’s theories. All I know is that it sure seemed cooler last year than previous years and it sure seems rainier this year than usual. I’m sure happier that I’m not having to water the yard as much. If this is global warming, I hope it continues.
I’m against the climate bill because there is NO proof that man is actually causing the increase in temperatures, and there is also no proof that carbon dioxide is the culprit in this warming trend. Carbon dioxide is an abundant gas that is absorbed by trees and exhaled by all mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Are we going to start getting taxed for breathing more? Are runners and athletes going to pay more taxes because they breath out more carbon dioxide? The earth has been warming and cooling for millions of years. What makes anyone think that our knowledge of recorded climate history (roughly 100 years)is enough to make staunch conclusions about how to deal with the problem?
This whole man made global warming scam is about MONEY! It’s another way to scare people into volunteering to pay more taxes to “fix” this so-called warming problem. However, no one really knows how to “fix” the problem, so our government is telling us that we have to TAX carbon dioxide output to solve the problem. It’s basically an easy way for politicians, governments and newly formed GREEN corporations to exploit tax payers and put the blame on industries which emit large amounts of carbon dioxide (ie power plants, factories, farms, etc. This is truly a scam of ultimate propotions to make the governments around the world more powerful while taking away rights of the individual.
Taxing carbon dioxide isn’t going to reverse climate change, it’s only going to line pockets of government criminals at the expense of the tax payer.
My new motto is “Don’t Tread On Me” - our government has a rude awakening if they don’t back off of the real owners of this country - the U.S. Citizenry.

I think you mean the U.S. Citizenry that actually produces and works for a living. People that live off of the government are not the owners. Owners are responsible and contribute. I know that’s not popular right not but that’s how I see it.
So someone who is unemployed, pays their taxes etc. Is not an owner in this country?
What about the retired? They are not owners because they collect social security from the government and do not contribute? Though contribute can have many meanings.
So once again if someone makes $50,000 in wages does than mean they own twice the country of one who makes $25,000.
Now we have someone who says who and who is not an owner of the country. Since we are taught that the citizens own the country. We now have someone who strips us of our citizenship.
