We are headed for disaster, so conservatives should be ready
Among the most extreme far left liberals, Obama is their front man. I do not say that lightly or without a heavy heart. A hero takes on all challenges and tackles all criticism, a coward refuses to confront his opposition. A hero defends his position on its merits, a coward blames someone else, anyone else for their failures. A hero sees his country for its inherent good while acknowledging its shortcomings, a coward sees only the bad. A hero aligns with freedom all the time under all circumstances, a coward sides with the easy and convenient side. If we can survive this failing economy and dangerous world, the Republicans need to keep their mouths shut. They lost with a weak candidate, a weak platform and a weak performance. The electorate told them to go back and reorganize, I’m not sure they got it either. We are headed for disaster. The voters voted and they voted for change, what they got however was a great big bag of you know what.

Amen brother and well said.
You better load your guns and lock your doors and windows. The nuts will be after you.
Shout it from the mountain top!!
When Mike wrote: “…the Republicans need to keep their mouths shut. They lost with a weak candidate, a weak platform and a weak performance. The electorate told them to go back and reorganize, I’m not sure they got it either.”
He spoke the greatest truth of all.
The voters took the GOP to the woodshed, and the GOP leadership (who ARE it’s leaders, anyway?) still is pretending that they lost because they aren’t conservative enough. Politics runs in cycles, and for 30 years or so they’ve preached the Reagan gospel. It’s time for a new message, and some new messengers.
Oh, by the way, my reading of history suggests that EVERY time we have had single party rule in this country, overreaching is the name of the game, and the voters take care of it in the next cycle. The BEST overall government (bless the founders) happens when you have strong leadership of different parties in the white house and in congress…interestingly enough, that’s when the best overall results happen.
In a battle of ideas, the side that the most consistent wins. Both of them accept a lot of the same bad ideas - service & sacrifice specifically.
egoist…that didn’t make a lot of sense. I think you dropped some words.
Reorganize? The Republican party needs to get back to it’s roots and kick out the religious nut cases!
Of the two evils, the extreme left doesn’t scare me as much as the extreme right. If the Republicans put Ron Paul up for President I will definitely vote Obama out. As long as they keep putting extreme right leaning politicians up I will always vote for the Democrats.

You’re fishing in shallow waters hs. The tens of millions that gave Bill Clinton credit for a good economy because he was President while it happened, then blamed Bush for the disaster created by sales of
“derivatives,” the brainchild of Robert Rubin, Clinton’s Secretary of Treasury, who later lapped up tens of millions of bonuses from Citigroup after they stupidly acquired the toxic assets that Rubin had originally concocted. Rubin and his acolytes, Lawrence Summers, Henry Paulson and Timothy Geithner all all had a key to the same restroom at Goldman Sachs.
TARP bailed out Citigroup and Goldman Sachs then threw our money at AIG who had insured them against toxic asset loss. They got paid back twice and now want to refund the first bailout so they can go crazy on salaries and bonuses again.
Republican responsibility? How could Bush have been so dumb to appoint a member of this den of thieves to Secretary of the Treasury when Democrats had appointed all the others to that position? He believed the clamor from a leftist media and “Independents” to go along to get along and Republicans nominated the main proponent of this hare brained folly as their Presidential candidate in 2008. Thankfully, age will overcome his ambitions in 2012.
Somebody should have told both of them that when you lay with dogs, you get up with fleas.
Cue Twilight Zone Theme ……..
Speaking of fishing in shallow waters and derivatives, “Sage”….
You leave out the most damning piece of evidence in those derivatives: the fact that billions of dollars worth of bad mortgage debt was allowed first, to be rated triple-A by Moody’s and S&P when clearly they shouldn’t have been ( during the Bush Admin. ) and secondly by diluting those toxic “assets” with good ones so that nobody really knew where the good ended and the bad began. This all happened on the watch of Christopher Cox, a man so inept he made Michael Brown look like Michael Jordan.
I’m disappointed in you Sage, that is a typical right-wing tactics-leaving out a most key piece of the puzzle as if no one is going to notice. I’m sure “magnum” and “dr.-bunk” will read your words and think, “you nailed him, Sage!”, but those of us who are more interested in the truth than proving our partisan point know better.
“It’s all Clinton Fault!” Get over it.

DUDE! The nuts are the ones with guns! I’ve seen these insecure types your gassin’ about, they (not all gun owners, me for instance…) have guns for courage, they never lost the fascination with guns that most guys lose by adulthood… think about it.
