We have to adapt to survive
Thank you for finally putting to a rest the issue of “global warming” or “climate change” in your headline editorial (“Just Blaine Wrong,” July 16, 2009). The graph accompanying the editorial shows the true state of what is happening in stark lines of black and white – the climate is cooling! Call the dip in temperature clearly indicated by the graph over the last several years “annual temperature fluctuation” if you want; I’ll borrow a term coined recently and call it an “inconvenient truth” – for the global warming crowd. The truth is that the climate is cooling which reveals the “cap and trade” scheme that the Obama administration is about to foist off on Americans is no more than a monstrous money grab that will hurt average Americans and damage our economy all in the name of a disputed theory. To look at data from the last 150 years or so of a world that is millions of years old and attempt to divine some theory about the future is ludicrous. The Earth’s climate warms up, it cools, then it warms up, and then it cools; there is nothing static in nature and there is nothing that we puny humans can do to change it. We just have to adapt and survive.

Well said Tim. It won’t matter to the Obamamaniacs. Global warming is real, even if it isn’t warming. We can borrow and spend our way out of a crisis caused by excess borrowing and spending. Somehow, the fed taking over health care will not result in higher costs and lower quality service, as is historically true. On and on. As long as the morons that buy this can vote, we are in trouble.

That is why they changed the name, from Global Warming to Climate Change. The 100 million Gore has made from this hoax, is not enough. He wants to make another 100 million, so he can afford his electric bill, and purchase fuel for his private jet.

Weren’t you Socialists the same ones complaining about high gas prices last year? So now, Congress tries to pass cap and tax where everything goes up and thats ok? Cant you people be consistent? At last the editors of the Post Dispatch published metrics about global warming in “Just Blaine Wrong” July 16,2009. The purveyors of banality assume that most readers would jump to the conclusion that humans are responsible for this warming trend via our production of carbon dioxide. Total atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) - both man-made and natural- accounts for only 3.52 % of the overall greenhouse effect when water vapor pressure is taken into account. Water vapor is responsible for 95% of the overall greenhouse effect.
Among climatologists the water vapor pressure effect is common knowledge. Conceding that it might be a little misleading to leave water vapor pressure out of calculations , they nontheless defend the practice by stating that it is customary to do so.
Before contributing to the pseudoscience of global warming again I suggest that you burden yourselves with basic knowledge of climatology.
