If Obama is guided by the blue dogs, he’ll do OK

Thus far, the Obama presidency has provided many entertaining ironies for political conservatives.  To name just a few:

Despite trashing former President Bush as a warmonger and civil-liberties wrecker during the campaign, President Obama (to his credit) has in fact continued many of the Bush national security programs, e.g. the Patriot Act including overseas telephone call surveillance, the war against terror in Afghanistan, and use of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.

He is a community organizer very upset with communities who have organized in  opposition to his health care bill.   He has made no objection to his staff and other Democratic politicians referring to the protesters as ” a mob, Nazis, KKK and un-American.”  If I recall correctly, dissent was the highest form of patriotism when George W. Bush occupied the White House.

President Obama campaigned as the “post-partisan” and “post-racial” candidate.  To date, however, he has been neither.  He has made little or no effort to ensure that Republicans have a genuine voice in the deliberations on Capitol Hill.  And he showed an appalling lack of judgment in choosing sides in the Professor Gates/Sergeant Crowley incident.

Still, Mr. Obama’s presidency is young, like the inexperienced president himself.  If he will allow himself to be guided by the conservative (blue dog) voices in his own party and by the majority of Americans who want measured not radical change, he may yet have a productive presidency.

Mr. O’Neill

The Blue Dogs are the health care insurance industry whores. Have you not the facts concerning all the money that is thrown to these Blue Dogs? These Blue Dogs should be ran out of Washington come the next election.

Blue Dogs in particular, the seven members who sit on the Energy and Commerce Committee — Reps. Mike Ross (Ark.), Baron Hill (Ind.), Charlie Melancon (La.), Jim Matheson (Utah), John Barrow (Ga.), Bart Gordon (Tenn.) and Zach Space (Ohio) — have received, on average, $711,828 from the health and insurance sectors. Other Democrats on the committee, by contrast, have received an average of $628,023.

My question is, how on earth did these insurance company whore mongers end up on the Committe in the first place.

They are big trouble for Obama supporters, the people and this country but our citizens are stupidly blind to that fact.

superdave,

Actually, I have gone to that site only about 5 times in my life. I always forget about it. I will have to definitely check it out at as much as I check out Sean Hannity.

UberDave… It seems it’s the right that can’t think for itself. I just read yesterday about a conservative organization that’s providing talking points for the town hall meetings. Included in a kit they’re offering is a draft letter to the editor! Apparently, most conservatives are too dense to even craft their own letter. Now that’s rich!

Who knows what guides this man. He won’t hardly ever reveal HIMSELF. But here is one revelation:

WTH?… Obama Ignores National Day of Prayer But Sends Out 5 Minute Ramadan Blessing(?)
HotAirPundit posted Obama’s Ramadan wishes today…
It’s five minutes long:

It’s even translated into several languages.
From the White House blog:

President Obama extends his best wishes to Muslims around the world during Ramadan. (public domain)

“…do you remember how Obama observed the National Day of Prayer?
He distanced himself from it.
The Washington Times reported:

President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers…

Maybe he was serious when he said America was a Muslim nation?

dr-debunk,

As a Christian I think nothing of this “National Day of Prayer”. It is insulting to me as a Christian and I do believe to God in my opinion that such a national day would dare exist when Christians and others religions who believe in God whether that religion is, Jewish, Christian or Muslim, those who are faithful to God know that we must have reverence for Him and speak and pray to Him daily. We have a relationship with God that is with us where ever we are at all times and we know He is there for us to speak with and pray to throughout our day each and whenever we call upon Him. We don’t need any national day of prayer, it is truly insulting.

You and others can go ahead a play your little righteous God loving games but don’t expect everyone else to follow blindly behind you. Why would you care anyway? Do you have such high reverence for God?
