Sarah and the jets: More to the story

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A recent letter to editor writer complimented Sarah Palin for selling an Alaska owned jet.  Sarah then traveled on commercial flights taking her family and charging the Alaskan people for the family’s airfare. She recently had to reimburse the people of Alaska for her family’s airfare.
It is interesting Sarah campaigned for governor of Alaska saying she favored the ‘Bridge to No Where’.  Later, when it was politically astute, she turned down the bridge, BUT she kept the federal money.  Alaska has received more federal dollars per capita than any state in the union.
When mayor of Wasilla, then Mayor Sarah Palin bought a lobbyist to get U.S. government dollars just for the very small town of Wasilla.
Sarah knows how to move politically.  She was early on a member of the Republican Woman of Alaska.  She did not get the senate seat she craved when Senator Frank Murkowski was elected governor of the state; he made her the Chairman of the Alaskan Oil and General Conservation Commission.  Sarah quit
after one year charging ethics violations against others on the commission.
Sarah charged that fellow Republicans did political work while they were being paid by Alaska; one man was the chairman of the Alaska Republican Party.  Interestingly, Sarah used time, machines and telephones of Wasilla when she previously ran unsuccessfully in a primary for the Republican Lt. Governor of Alaska. This time she ran for governor of Alaska saying that she would reform such ethics as those used by fellow Republicans on the Oil and General Conservation Commission.
While governor, Sarah hired two public relation firms to sell her as an authority on oil.
Is this where John McCain’s people ‘heard’ about her.  She would not listen to John McCain or his people during the campaign.
Unfortunately, we have the on going report about Sarah selling.  Now ’selling’ the Seniors who use Medicare by telling them and their families the Democrats would have a Death Panel to decide which Senior lives. Sarah sold her own son with the lie the Death Panel was also for people who are mentally or physically challenged.  The next day Sarah tried to buy back her Death Panel.  When she could not, she started selling the sad lie again.  My question:  Is Sarah Palin profiting now from the health care industry’s expenditure of one-million-dollars-plus-a-day to defeat health care reform or will she in her future political plans.
As a Senior who uses Medicare, I would very much like to have Medicare pay for a consultation I could have with my doctor about the possibilities of care when death is near.  My family would be grateful for my having had this consultation with my doctor and the plans I made when my end of life is near.

Patricia,

How about listing some sources for your claims other than the daily kos and move on.

Sarah Palin isn’t even a politician anymore. What are you so scared of? Why don’t you take your hate and jealousy of her to the Daily Kos where the rest of the “Government Take Care Of Me” morons would agree with you.

By the way Patricia, you state, “I would very much like to have Medicare pay for a consultation I could have with my doctor about the possibilities of care when death is near.” Medicare doesn’t pay for anything, the American Taxpayers do. Not a single dime is paid for your Medicare without first taking that dime from someone else.

Yes, you may have paid into medicare but your beloved politicians (of both parties) spent that money a long time ago.

JamesR,

Try learning something from your elders. Ms. Trautwein is mush more wiser than you.

Haven’t we all learned by now that the rules apply to everyone except Sarah Palin?

James R, they are absolutely scared to death of Sarah Palin. If this had been a liberal female do we really think it would be like this? Walker and her sister Rotert will do all they can to demonize Sarah. Patricia, I am so sorry that it bothers you so much that Sarah had the audacity to bring her kids with her. How dare here involve her family. After all, you need the money, and we all know that it has to be a Conservative that is taking it from you.

Perhaps if your liberal blinders werent on you would see that your side is spending your money on all kinds of important things needed for this country. Im sure that little fish near Nancy Pelosi’s area is much more important, or that billions of wasteful dollars in the Stimulus package is more important than you having that doctor visit. Lets not forget that Democrats want to cut your Medicare but I am quite confident that it is only for good reasons. We all know how much they really and truly care. However, if it makes you feel good to demonize a woman for having her kids with her then you are a free American and you can do that. I wish Conservatives had that right!

You liberals should be ashamed of yourself for the continual trashing of an ex-governor. If you are pleased that Conservatives like her then you need not worry, but you do! I love it!

I’m scared of her in the way I’d be scared of a chimpanzee being around a missile launch button.

At least you didnt disappoint us. Your usual lack of class answers are what we expect. It is amazing to me that you liberals love to attach women and blacks so viciously when they are Conservatives.

Your total lack of intelligence is so apparent. Obviously, you went to government schools. Its nice to see they manufactured another Socialist!

My lack of class answers? I’d say you’ve elevated name-calling to an art form, but you’re not that talented. You’re just obnoxious with anyone who disagrees with you. And then, when someone uses the same tactic on you, you cry foul. Get back to Romper Room, Dave.

I agree Patricia, I think you should take the painkiller instead of getting that pacemaker, just what the Medicare consultation will recommend in our proposed system. I think with your tremendous knowledge of Sarah Palin, most likely obtained from your CNN secretive operative on assignment in Alaska, you should write a biography on Sarah Palin. You can promote your book on the all-too-successful Air America Radio Network. CASH FOR CLUNKERS RULES!!!! I wonder if our health care system will run out of money in 2 months?

18. Are my Medicare benefits going to decrease?
No. In fact, this legislation enhances your Medicare benefits. It fills the Medicare Part D drug program “donut hole” which currently leaves a gap in your prescription drug program when you need the help most. A large down payment is made immediately into the donut hole and it is eliminated over a number of years. On the preventive health front, to ensure that people take better advantage of preventive health care, it eliminates all cost-sharing (copayments and deductibles) for these vital services. It also improves the low-income subsidy programs in Medicare so that more people get the financial help they need to make sure Medicare is affordable for them.
