Another example of bias
The speech of the President turned out to be pretty non controversial but one needs to understand that this speech given was not what was originally planned. In the originally planned speech the White House had colluded with the Department of Education to send homework to the kids such as writing letters to themselves about how they could help the President achieve his goals. Not how they could achieve their goals, not how the Country could achieve its goals but how they could personally help the President. Then, of course, there is the issue of the gross hypocracy. When George H.W. Bush gave a talk to schools, the Democrats objected and actually held Congressional hearings over this issue. So why was it OK for President Obama to do this yet hearings had to be held by Democrats when President Bush did it? Hypocracy? Of course but you need to understand that hypocracy is an ongoing trait among Democrats. What was really sad about this story is that how President Bush was treated was never told to you by the Post. I wonder why? Another example of bias? You make the call.

Both parties are dead wrong. I am much more concerned about the actions then I am about a speech to the kids. I want to know what the teachers are saying and doing. Thats where it starts and lingers. Lets not let this silliness distract us! WE need to be concerned about the thievery of our freedom!
I’ve heard the left, but especially the right, claim that there was nothing of controversy in the speech. Perhaps not, when viewed from a pop-culture perspective. I was predictably disgusted with the “what will you contribute?” altruism. Unless you kids (as cells) contribute to the organism (collective), you’re worthless - is what I hear.
I know everybody buys into this, except me. It doesn’t surprise me that so many kids turn to drugs to escape the mindless anti-self ethics promoted by their elders.

What is ironic is that first you supported John Edwards in ‘08, then when he had an affair and dropped out, you supported Hillary, then when she got demolished, you became a big Obama supporter.
