Let’s expose our kids to fresh ideas
Bill McClellan deserves applause for calling it like it is: Schools Superintendent Simpson is more concerned with politically biased parents than he is about our children. To prevent local school kids from hearing our President speak about the importance of doing their homework based on a fear that some parents might not like the president’s politics makes about as much sense as keeping a young Cardinal fan from going out for Little League because daddy disagrees with Bud Selig’s stand on steroids. That is, no sense at all!
What a priviledge, to hear the President of the United States talk to YOU and your classmates! Education is supposed to be about learning, not about cowering from fearful parents.
If we spent more time allowing our kids to be exposed to fresh ideas and the opportunity to be inspired to make better decisions, our future would look a lot smarter. As it is, we seem destined to keep making the same mistakes again and again, based on a definition of education and parenthood dedicated to prevention rather than learning, to looking backwards instead of ahead.

Perhaps if we taught our children how to think instead of what to think the whole country would be better off.
D.J. Richards,
–You are right that parents shouldn’t be afraid of allowing the President to speak to school-children. The fact that they are is revealing of how this President, and his lackeys are perceived by the majority of clear-thinking adults. They increasingly fear him, and his agenda.
–Their promises of “transparency” has quickly turned into obfuscations, distortions and lies. They continue to build walls of secrecy around their agendas, while trying to force unwanted “reforms” down our throats. They call opponents of their agenda “paid-for mobs and worse. It is time for citizens to begin to take their country back.
–If we spent more time teaching our kids with the proper balance of love, nurturing, and discipline, our society wouldn’t be headed down the vortex of despair it is in. Instead, we put supposed ideas of “security” ahead of our own well-being, and more control in the hands of the nanny-state.
–Single-parent families, drug-addled children, schools filled with doctrine instead of education, abortion as birth-control; all “enlightened” ideas foisted upon us through the auspices of the “progressive” movement, and all causes or symptoms of a painfully intrusive federal bureaucracy. The freedoms we formally took for granted are being slowly taken away, and you don’t even see it.
Hey Daniel, even though I had no problem with the kids listening to this Socialist President, I do have a problem with you telling the parents how to raise their kids. Why do YOU get to decide its ok? Why do I get the feeling that if it was Bush then things would be different? Funny how that works!
They don’t want a black man speaking to their kids, has nothing to do with politics.
Bernie,
“They don’t want a black man speaking to their kids, has nothing to do with politics.”
What is with you liberals? Anyone who doesn’t agree with your chosen one is a racist. That’s all you can say. You can’t debate with facts so you just call people names. Grow up!
Seriously, as a not-so-proud graduate of Lindbergh High based on Mr. Simpson’s decision, I have to say that I’m disappointed because his decision was based on fear.

–Don’t blame the useful-idiots, J.R., they are only capable of simple thoughts, and they are only repeating what they hear on their TV.
–For instance, while watching my favorite comedy last night, ‘Countdown’, on my favorite comedy channel, ‘MSNBC’, this is what they were saying.
–At first I thought they were broadcasting from a funeral, as the usually chipper guest host, David Schuster, was moribund. His guest, Howard Fineman was pasty-white, like he had just seen a ghost. This is a few of the quotes I picked up: “Teabag protesters”, “united in hatred”, “organized by Fox News”,are a “collection of nutcases”, and were for “re-establishing Jim Crow laws.” Nice.
–So I flipped over to CNN after that segment ended where I found Mark Williams, leader of the D.C. tea-party protest being piled on by Anderson Cooper, David Gergen, and ol’ snake-head, James Carville. I have to give Mark Williams credit though, he was giving it as good as he was getting it.
–They were trying to say ‘Freedom Watch’, an organizing arm of the Tea-Party Express, was led by “lobbyists” and “Neo-confederates”(that’s a new one), and we are no longer “governable as a people.”
–Throw that in the mix with Bill Maher calling the protesters “Cracker Nation” and Maureen Dowd saying “people just can’t believe a black man is President, and will never accept it,” and you begin to understand the meltdown.
–So, J.R., let’s give the idiotologists a break, they are just caught up in the tidal wave of over-heated hyperbole and crass rhetoric being laid out in front of them. Luckily we have enough clear-thinking adults left who understand it’s about bad policy, bad government, and taking our country back.
dr-debunk,
You never write anything that proves to us that you have a thought or opinion that comes originally from your own thought process. Your brain is almost identical to the African Grey Amazon. Repeat what you here or copy what you have read. If you are attempting to debunk as your name tells us, with truth correcting something, YOU MUST FIRST HAVE THE TRUTH which you rarely do and only pass on misinformation.
This passing on misinformation by your ilk has become a very serious problem and it is inexcusable, is causing a national crisis within this country and maybe, it is time for Congress to act upon this national crisis that your ilk and those who are responsible. It is just dangerously pathetic what we are witnessing happening.

–The angrier tools like you get, the more I realize I am doing good work.
–What are you suggesting? Perhaps large rooms where we can send Bambi’s opponents into where they can be gassed? Then thrown into ovens where their bodies can be turned to ash?
–Please expound on your “final solution”.
Comparing Obama to Hitler and making fake Kenyan birth certificates are the facts you racist Republicans want to debate. When the Republicans grow up, stop crying and saying “no” like spoiled babies I will stop having fun. Until then, all the little white babies are just mad someone desegregated their special club.
