What happens when you try to report a meth house
What do I say to my young neighbor, seeking advice, when she wants to report a possible drug house in our neighborhood? “Call the Sheriff’s Department”. It seems simple, you would think. You would also think that in the Methamphetamine Capitol of Missouri (maybe even the U.S.), there would be more than voice mail. When you reach voice mail and you hear that there is a number that you can call if it is an imperative call, do you call the next number? Of course you do! What do you get…more voice mail and yet another number. How are we to be taken seriously, if we can not even get a sympathetic response? i.e.; “O.K., we’ll do a drive by and see if there is any thing going on there.”
Am I wrong? Try to report a meth. house in Jeffco. See if it is easy. It is not. I spent a lot of time on the Internet trying to find the correct number to call. When I did find a person to talk to, he didn’t grasp the importance of the info. that was being given to him. If it happens to be nothing, then nothing lost. If it turns out to be something that should not be happening in my neighborhood…then the law and the people have both won.

Just think, you are dealing with a small local government here in Missouri. Imagine the federal government running 1/7th of the entire US economy? Frightening indeed.
Hey Gaucho; what about the other 6/7’s being run by big business that gives its executives huge salaries and bonuses for incompetence, stupidity, greed and even outright criminal behavior? Try calling one of them when your bank screws up your account or your new refrigerator quits one month out of its warranty and see what happens. Then you’ll want the government to straighten it out.
As far as meth labs in Jefferson County, they wouldn’t be there if they weren’t paying off the local fuzz.

The courts have ruled it is not the job of the cops to protect you personally. They are only required to protect us collectively. Cops are keepers of history. They generally show up after the fact to record what has happened and how you were killed.
These are the same people who claim you do not have the right to protect yourself.

You guys are so darned helpful. Here we have a citizen, who believes there is criminal activity going on near her. She tries to report it to the responsible authorities and gets no where. This IS a problem, isn’t it?
What should she do? Load up her favorite firearm and barge in on the meth heads herself?
