How sweet is this latest government ruse!
The recent decision by Illinois physicians to back taxing soda is absurd!  What about all juices, a staple for children?  Everything flavored with fructose?
If irresponsible parents allow their children soft drinks at will, they will probably allow them cheeseburgers, french fries, ice cream, potato chips and candy.  Will we need to employ sugar and fat gram czars to eliminate all beverages and foods that are a target for weight gain?  Or will there be a mandate that each person exercise “X” number of minutes per day or pay a “couch potato” tax or be taxed on simply laziness?  Maybe we need an exercise czar!
Of course these “tongue and cheek” scenarios are ridiculous, but legitimate concerns are not!
What is happening to this country?  Have we lost our sanity?  You cannot force people to change their lifestyle by taxing and taxing.  To add a few pennies on sodas will do nothing but hurt the poor; hurt the sugar and beverage industry; and force more people to seek unemployment.
Why don’t we try to get one thing right before we continue to pummel our economy and what about the promise to not tax the middle class?
All these mandates will cost every citizen, regardless of income level.  This is insulting to the intelligence of the American people.
Each day brings new reason to just “shake our heads”.  Let’s forget the nonsense and the constant government intrusion and just get back to
the basics…life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!

Well Sue, the liberals happen to think that the way to economic success is to tax in every conceivable way possible. The only tax they don’t like is the one they couldnt pass!

Why not tax soda? I don’t drink it! It is only for the fat, lazy, pill popping racists. You fat, Racist Party members are the reason my company’s health insurance premiums have increased.

Since personal and parental responsibility has withered away in larger cities, (thanks mainly to the liberal media dominance, bombarding youth with garbage and immorality) the uphill climb will be very difficult after we all hit bottom. But at bottom is usually when a nation ceases to exist.

Some very sneaky, crafty politician long ago came up with a plan to generate revenue by taxing consumer products that some loopy physician someplace could allege was somehow someway bad for you. Tobacco products were the first obvious target. The politicians learned they could justify their tax by claiming they were simply looking out for us. Many who warned against this slippery slope were dismissed as nicotine addicted alarmists. Now there is talk of taxing your Grape Nehi. Who is ditzy enough to think it will stop there? Don’t get me wrong–I’m all for taxing people, but some poor unemployed inner city youth suckin’ down an RC Cola is not who I had in mind. And will diet soft drinks (a thoroughly stupid idea from inception), that do not contain sugar be exempt? Don’t count on it. How ’bout this? Everyone knows that plastic containers are filling up landfills faster than they can handle, so to cut down on plastic containers, we tax everything that is sold… Naw, don’t give them any ideas.

Bernie has the mental problem that all liberal idiots have. Every post he has, he mentions racists.

It don’t work no more idiot. You have used the same line for decades, and it just don’t work anymore.
