Re/ David Brooks (Confidence: The fatal conceit, 10/28) view that the bonus blessed CEO’s will go elsewhere if the bonuses for mismanagement don’t continue, I have an idea:. I shall offer my mismangement skills to Corporation XYZ with the admonition that if my offer is refused, I willl go to a competing corporation that will appreciate my mismanagement skills and run their company into the ground. This should give the Board of Directors good reason to hire me with a promise of a handsome salary and mismanagement bonus.

You’re hired Ken! But there are a couple of catches. You must agree to sit on several other Boards of Directors so you can hire other incompetents, and once you’ve destroyed our stock value you must accept a kazillion dollar retirement package. P.S. I expect you to give me a heads up just before our stock starts crashing.
