Licensed for the public interest
In the letters published Monday, November 2nd Ron Ebest suggests that MoveOn.org become the exact antithesis to Fox News, using Fox’s underhanded techniques to fight against the right the way Fox fights against the Democrats. I have an additional suggestion. Radio and television stations are licensed to broadcast “in the public interest” by the FCC. When broadcast stations’ licenses come up for renewal it’s possible to challenge those renewals, claiming that the stations no longer broadcast in the public interest or break some other FCC regulation. If Fox stations are broadcasting “disinformation” (lies) their licenses should be challenged, and the right to broadcast on those channels should be reassigned. Further, if Al Franken can write a book entitled “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Liar” and not get sued, that’s a clear admission on Fox’s part that they’re broadcasting lies, in contradiction to the public interest.

Tell us Fred, what “lies” have been broadcast. Please be specific and don’t included peoples’ opinions. Al Franken’s book is an opinion, it is not fact. He is entitled to his opinion, the same as everyone else, including Rush Limbaugh and you.
If you don’t like what your hearing Fred, take a little personal initiative and TURN IT OFF. No one is forcing you to listen to anything but, like most liberals, your tolerance for the opinions of others is a legend in your own mind.

Yank Fox’s license, lock up Rush at Betty Ford, send Beck to Guantanemo, declare Palin an enemy of the people, and then what the heck, ban the republican party. Then maybe we can get down to business.
It’s not so much outright lies, James R. It’s the deception. Take for example today’s FOX Report on the pending legislation in the house. The FOX reporter states, “Doctors are against the House Bill.” Now just wait a minute, the AMA has endorsed the bill, isn’t that made up of most Doctors? There might some doctors that are against providing health care to everyone, but to say that “Doctors are against the House Bill” is a stretch of the truth.

Is it a stretch of the truth? There is no deception. There have been plenty of letters and articles, printed in the PD and elsewhere, from doctors who are against government controlled health care. Your are simply stating you opinion and wanting people to believe it as fact. I believe MSNBC, CNN, and NBC all stretch the truth beyond comprehension but you probably believe every word he utters. That is opinion.
You also believe the case is closed on global warming and all the scientists agree. Your wrong. There are plenty of scientists and specifically climatologists who disagree with your buddy Al Gore.
So, I’m back to my original question. What specific lies have been broadcast by FOX? Come on Fred, answer the question.

You’re right, James R. FOX News is the pinnacle of “Fair and Balanced” reporting. There is no bias; they just report the news. Edward R. Morrow would have approved of Chris Wallace. They should use Hannity and Beck as shining examples of Investigative Journalism in the Colleges. Bill O’Reilly is a saint.
It’s no mystery why you lib-socialists love Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan dictator. He is doing what you can only dream of, shutting down the opposition media. For a group that claims to be so open-minded, you sure are a thin-skinned lot. Take a close look in the mirror at your dangerous, totalitarian impulses and control them lest you do everlasting damage to our freedoms. (And please, learn to construct a logical argument by citing specific examples to suport your thesis. I realize your liberal hate-sites don’t require specifics but we do at the PD blog.)
