Resenting American ideals
Emerson CEO David Farr is quoted as saying “I’m not going to hire anybody in the United States. I’m moving.” Does that mean he is leaving the country? And taking his company with him? Everyone whose opinion might become a headline is capable of speaking rashly. I believe that to be the case with Mr. Farr. At least I hope so. With the daily reports from Afghanistan and, to a lesser degree lately, Iraq, we are reminded that Americans are killing and dying for what they believe to be a noble cause, and that includes Mr. Farr’s business interests. The last two administrations leading this country represent two very different concepts of America. What they have in common is that they represent America’s will at the voting booth. For Mr. Farr to express his frustration with government policies must include those of us who voted in the majority. His anger can be understood in the context of his desire to protect his shareholders. But to threaten his country and the sacrifices of those given the burden of protecting Emerson’s interests as well as its stockholders by removing his operations and denying opportunities to Americans seems inexcusable, at the least. Where will he go when his greener pastures inevitably cost more to cultivate and maintain? Countries that control their populations…as he calls them…”Best-cost countries.” With leaders who, like Mr. Farr, seem to resent American ideals.

–Please…it sounds like you wouldn’t know what “American Ideals” were if they bit you in the…
–Where were all your crybaby antics when your legislators were selling your precious “American Ideals” off to Mexico, China, the Philippines, or wherever else they could over the last 20 years?
–Like it or not, the global economy is real, get over it. O-bow-ma just spent the last week genuflecting to world leaders in Asia, apologizing for the trillions in declining US Treasury notes they hold, hoping to persuade them to buy more.
–Part of the “green-energy” agenda involves building a 1.5 billion dollar wind farm in west Texas. ALL of the components of these “wind farms” are to be manufactured in China. Where is your feigned outrage on this?

Well it means it is too hard to do business in the USA. Taxes, rules and such. Some are ok, have rules to protect workers, I can live with that. For safety reasons, still OSHA is self funded, and if someone makes a complaint will be fines. Tax the rich, well I work for them, glad they are rich and smart enough to keep me employed. As for as debunks comment, will say this, I work on electric motors, a ” wind machine” has over 8000 parts, a maintence nightmare to say the least, not matters who makes them, just not a good idea. Lots of oil left, just we cannot get to it, why it is here and laws prevent it.
It’s the age of bluewater business models and globalization and new world order and gated communities and Gulfstream jets for the real owners of America and Post Dispatch business columnists telling us not to have nostalgia for what was….In summary, in other words, at the end of the day…the American middle class is screwed.

“The director of the Congressional Budget Office today confirmed that the Democrats’ government-run plan will make healthcare more costly than ever, making clear that one of the Democrats’ chief talking points is pure fiction,” House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement.
“Dr. Elmendorf today gave a sobering perspective on the implications of the majority’s healthcare reform plan,” said Senate Budget Committee ranking member Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) in a statement. “He indicated that the present plans contain no significant changes to reduce federal costs relative to reimbursement and the overall healthcare structure.”
Yep, I said preliminary!!
Jim, Jim, Jim, how did you make it this far in this country without realizing that we are Capitalist? We believe in profit and competition unlike what your beliefs are. If you want Socialists to run your lives then why dont YOU move. What Mr Farr speaks of is about what has made our country the greatest ever but with ideas like yours Jim will destroy us. Perhaps that’s what you want?
Please explain to us how this country has made it this far and done so well and now you want to close shop. A corporation is there to make a PROFIT. Its too bad that YOUR administration doesnt get it or want it, but either way its YOUR administration who is causing so many to move. The problem is that YOU are too dumb to figure it out. Your Government schools deserve an “A” for you. Its too bad it doesnt work for real life.
