Wake up, folks, while you still can recognize your country

Some factual info on the “whee!, free health care for everybody!” bill passed by the House (of ill repute) Democrats:

The bill is 1,990 pages long, so the majority of politicians hadn’t read it, but hey, they didn’t read the $787 billion porkulous (”stimulus”) bill either so no sweat, its just taxpayer money.  Whoops, I mean Chinese money.

You know the monstrosity is seriously flawed when 39 Democrats (plus 1 Republican from overwhelmingly Democratic New Orleans) voted against their own party’s bill.

They peg the cost at a little over $1 trillion for ten years, which should give everybody pause.  Remember Congress estimated the cost of Medicare by a certain year at $9 billion when they passed it; turned out to be $60+ billion.

If you’re a fan of government bureaucracy, the bill is a bonanza–111 new government agencies will be created.

Obama and Pelosi promised the bill would be available to citizens a minimum of 72 hours before voting.  Once again, empty rhetoric–back door wheeling and dealing, bribes to wavering politicians and organizations for their support–and no “transparency.”

The bill ignores tort reform (naturally, since lawyers are a prime Democrat constituency), doesn’t remove the restriction of companies not being able to sell insurance across state lines–both of which would bring down costs.  It includes a “public option,” which the majority of (taxpaying) Americans oppose, which will result in private insurers not being able to compete with the government, going out of business, and leaving government in total control of 1/6th of our economy.  (Our national debt is now closing in on $12 trillion, and activities currently under government control–Medicare, Prescription Drugs, and Social Security–now have unfunded liabilities of $106+ trillion.  See www.usdebtclock.org.)

It exempts all DC public “officials” and their families from what they say would be wonderful health care for us “little people.”

Better wake up, folks, while you can still recognize your country.

The Public Option and Private Plans both…

• Are self-sufficient based on premiums

• Must pay for higher costs with higher premiums

• May not use Federal Income taxes, State Income taxes, FICA taxes, or any other taxes to fund their insurance plans

• Will have customers receiving government subsidies

Since Private Plans will be receiving government subsidies, does that mean…

• Private Plans will be priced artifically low because they can be subsidized by higher taxes and deficit spending?

• Private Plans can rely on taxes to fund any level desired by the political officials?

• To satisfy constituents, Congress can lower Private Plans’ premium rates to any level desired and simply add to the growing financial deficit?

Because there is absolutely no funding difference between the Public Option and Private Plans.

p.s. The answer to all 3 questions is “No”.

Al Dorn: Medicare, Prescription Drugs, and Social Security–now have unfunded liabilities of $106+ trillion

I don’t know where the National Debt Clock gets their numbers, but that doesn’t agree with the Medicare and Social Security Trustees reports.

$36.4 + $15.1 = $51.5 trillion

That is, over the infinite horizon, the HI unfunded obligations are projected to be $36.4 trillion.

Page 110
Table III.C15 shows that because of the automatic financing of Part B, there is no unfunded obligation.

Page 126
Table III.C23 shows that because of the automatic financing of Part D, there is no unfunded obligation.

That is, over the infinite horizon, the OASDI open group unfunded obligation is projected to be $15.1 trillion.

Liberal lunatic Lisa trusts Nanny Pelosi and her San Franfreakshow values that stretch the truth more than her face (if that’s possible). That’s liberal math for you (2,000 pages at $2.5 million per word and counting). Will these clueless clowns ever stop nestling up against that big government boob in their clunker imagination?

Yappers!

70% of American voters support healthcare reform!

The AMA supports healthcare reform!

The AARP supports healthcare reform!

If the Catholic Bishops really meant what they said (exclude abortion funding and protect healthcare conscience laws), they’ll support healthcare reform.

Healthcare reform will help the elderly, disabled, people with pre-existing conditions, youth, working poor, children and the uninsured. There are 45 million uninsured Americans and 45,000 Americans die each year because they lack health insurance.

The folks who oppose healthcare reform are bitter old white folks who are wholly owned by the death dealing health insurance industry!

Tim Hogan:

“70% of American voters support healthcare reform!”

100 percent of American taxpayers support Chrysler and General Motors but that doesn’t mean they will buy the overpriced crap they produce.

The liberal definition of “reform” is government takeover.

Government takeover? Gimme a break.

SHEPARD SMITH: It’s not a government take over, Senator! That’s not fair and we both know it. It’s not a government takeover because what it would be is a government option if you have insurance now and you like it you can keep it. … That’s not a government take over if we’re being fair is it Senator?

SHEPARD SMITH: Every vote against a public option is a vote for the insurance companies, sir. It is!

Tim Hogan: The folks who oppose healthcare reform are bitter old white folks…

…who already have guaranteed, taxpayer-funded health insurance called MEDICARE!!!

And they have the nerve to shake their wrinkly old fingers at the rest of us and say…
