Many common folks will be working in 2012 to crush the GOP

St. Louis Post-Dispatch
I hope Charles Krauthammer’s opinion of the results of the off-year, one state election is incorrect.  President Obama is doing nothing more than he talked about in the campaign, and is certainly the first president in at least eight years interested in the…

Using fear to divide and conquer

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

History has taught me that fear-mongering has always been the most effective weapon in dividing and conquering. That is why I believe the last Bible that God inspired man to write is the Constitution of the United States. God needed…

How does 41 now beat 59?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch
I have just one question about the healthcare debate and the now permanent threat of filibuster. If we live in a democracy, why is it that in the U.S. Senate, 41 votes now beats 59 votes? Can anyone seriously defend that?

Scott…

GOP loves free enterprise (except when it doesn’t)

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

I have to admit I was wrong about conservatives. I thought they wanted lower taxes and less spending. It seems they are not concerned about spending your tax dollars, as long as you are supporting their private industry donors.

I read…

Health care reform: An issue of the people

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

As a child of the 50’s and 60’s I remember neighbors gathering together in the evenings and talking while the children innocently played together. I remember carrying groceries for your neighbor and cutting the neighbors lawn when they were gone.…

Incensed by selective reporting

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Kudos to Mike Newbury for his letter in the June 5, 2009 Post-Dispatch for his letter about the liberal media’s biased reporting.  If radical pro-lifers are all Republicans, then all ecoterrorists are Democrats.  I am neither Democrat nor Republican, but I…

Is this how we want our Supreme Court installed?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Boy our politicians don’t care who knows how they feel. They call the new Supreme Court candidate racially wrong since  she was picked. Now they’re going to quit calling her that because it may hurt their elction hopes..It hasn’t been proven…

As long as we’re renaming political parties …

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

So, the republicans want to call the Democrat party “The Democratic Socialist party” now?

Well, maybe the republican party could be renamed “The Republican CEO Party” or “The Republican Corporation party” since they’re always on the side of big business…

Oh, Obama and the teleprompters

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Republicans, after their resounding defeat in November, are desperate to find a subject on which they can crucify Obama — and of late their favorite seems to be: teleprompters.

I’ve been around a while, and according to my memory the first…

It’s a miracle: Republicans have found fiscal conservatism again

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Verily I say, it is a miracle! The blind now see, the deaf now hear, the mute are now able to speak and the bodies of those castrated have experienced testicular regeneration! Halleluiah!

For the eight years prior to the…
