St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The letter from Matthew Kuhlenbeck of the Missouri Foundation for Health (Nov. 7) offers help to smokers who want to quit.

No smoking (but plenty of vice)

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Ironic isn’t? There’s now a smoking ban in place in St. Louis City, but it seems there’s a crack and heroin dealer on every corner! Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees!

Smoking? Check. What’s next?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Now that the St. Louis County voters in their infinite wisdom have approved the smoking ban by a 2:1 margin, what can possibly come next? Since drunk drivers kill innocent people, perhaps we can focus on a ban against drinking…

Prop N: Vote no to preserve business owners’ rights

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A recent letter writer (Oct. 28), regarding Prop N, claimed that second hand smoke “causes approximately 50,000 deaths annually in the United States”, this attributed to a 2006 Surgeon General report.

Oh, really? So how many of these 50 thousand deaths…

St. Louis County shouldn’t be a safe haven for smokers

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Not being a smoker, I can only relate my common experiences with those who do, and the vast majority involve visitors to our fair city.  I always encounter these “out-of-towners” while at various bar/restaurants in the west county area, and even…

Yes on Prop. N to protect our children and grandchildren

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Please get out and vote on Tuesday Nov 3 for Propposition N.  Our children, patrons and restaurant workers deserve clean air to breathe.  I have a very hard time when smokers complain about their rights. They have the right to smoke…

Vote no on Prop N for freedom of choice

Fellow Citizens,

There’s a good reason not to legalize marijuana

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A recent letter said it was time to decriminalize marijuana. Why not? Consider the unborn babies of addicted mothers.  Marijuana is 5 to 6 times harder on the lungs than cigarette smoking.  The latter can cause low birth weight, which in turn…
