St. Louis’ own Jack Dorsey’s new post-Twitter venture
When Jack Dorsey - cofounder of Twitter - was in St. Louis last month, he mentioned this new venture he’s been working on since stepping down as Twitter’s chief executive. (He’s still chairman.)
So far, he’s hasn’t said a whole lot about the company. But it looks like the product may finally be emerging - whether or not Dorsey is ready to go public. Check out this post over at CNET, where Caroline McCarthy looks at what’s believed to be the new venture - Square.
In a nutshell, it’s a gadget that lets an iPhone be used as a mobile payment device.
Details about the small-business-oriented project have been on the Web for months. It was just that nobody had put two and two together until some eagle-eyed folks at Engadget realized that a URL on a screenshot of the “Square iPhone Payments Venture” first reported by Coolhunting matched a domain registered to Dorsey.
