I’m no TV expert. But during this day, I’ve learned one thing. Everyone who makes a TV says theirs provides the absolute best thing going when it comes to picture quality. So I’m going to make no attempt to try and figure that one out. I’ll leave it to the professional reviewers.

However, one thing stood out at Samsung’s press briefing - the company’s partnership with Yahoo! that will give Samsung customers a TV viewing experience mixed with pieces of the Internet.

The two companies are going to offer Internet@TV, a feature that uses widgets (or small applications) to bring in select content from the Internet. It could be photo-sharing sites like Flickr!, social networking site MySpace and the eBay auction site.  Whatever it is, they will be able to be controlled by the basic remote control.

“We will enable users to choose services they most care about, not just the ones given to them,” said Patrick Barry, a vice president with Yahoo!

The service will be availabe for Samsung’s new Series 7, 8 and 9 LED, LCD and plasma TVs.

And while this wasn’t mentioned at the Samsung press conference, Yahoo!’s own site does say that this service will also be available for TVs made by LG, Sharp and Vizio.
