Blues’ call-up options in Peoria are limited

With the news today that T.J. Oshie will miss about two weeks after undergoing an appendectomy, many fans are wondering if the team will re-call a forward from Peoria.
Here’s the situation: The first two options are Yan Stastny and Derek Armstrong. First of all, Armstrong is sick with the flu, but I will get to that in a minute.
Neither Armstrong nor Stastny would have to clear waivers to join the Blues. However, because the team has 12 healthy forwards, they couldn’t be called up on an emergency basis. So, the Blues can recall them, but if they stay on the NHL roster for 10 games or 30 days, they would be subject to waivers again if returned to Peoria.
It seems that Oshie would be back by then, but do the Blues want to start the clock on Armstrong or Stastny?

Stastny, who was recently voted the Peoria captain, has been the Rivermen’s best player and deserves a shot.
Armstrong, meanwhile, isn’t healthy enough to play right now. According to Peoria Journal-Star writer Dave Eminien, he mentions in his blog “Cleve’s World” today that five or so Peoria players have the flu and Armstrong is believed to be one of them. The Rivermen had to call up a few players from Alaska in order to have a lineup tonight. I am not certain whether Stastny has been affected.
The young propspects like Lars Eller and Aaron Palushaj are not ready for a call-up, according the people I spoke with.
D.J. King is expected to be in the Blues’ lineup against Dallas tonight. If any of this changes, I will post later.

Mr Rutherford, is Conklin the starter for tonight’s game?

In my humble opinion the Blues would be a better team with Yan on the roster instead of D.J. we don’t need 2 tough guys

What about Porter? That is a name which is being thrown around, and he seems to be putting up some numbers in Peoria.
