Here are some injury updates from today’s practice:

Andy McDonald (upper-body)

- Skated today for the first time since crashing into the boards Saturday against Florida. The Blues are calling him day-to-day, so it’s unknown whether he’ll be available for Thursday’s game against Calgary.

“He skated this morning, and that was encouraging,” Blues coach Andy Murray said. “Today was the first time Andy was back on the ice. He took therapy for a couple of days and got back out there today.”

Carlo Colaiacovo (flu)

- Colaiacovo practiced for the first time today, after missing the last three games with the flu. His status for Thursday is questionable.

“First of all, I felt a little winded at the start,” Colaiacovo said. “My body has been shut completely shut down for about five days. But as the practice went on, I started to feel a lot better. It’s tough to say . . . I’ll know more (Wednesday) about how I feel strength-wise and conditioning-wise. But I’ll tell you what, it’s nice to be out of bed and doing something active.”

T.J. Oshie (Appendix)

- Oshie continued practicing with the team and is expected to play Thursday.

“I feel great, back to 100 percent,” Oshie said. “I really didn’t think it was that serious. I knew it wasn’t as bad as (Chris) Mason’s (appendectomy) last year. We got it early and I wasn’t scared of the surgery, so I was fine. I’m good to go. I feel great.”

- Oshie said that he lost 8-9 lbs. after the surgery and has put half of that back on.

“T.J. is a little lighter . . . doesn’t have his appendix with him anymore,” Murray said. “He’s flying out there, he’s come to play and certainly we miss his aggressiveness in the lineup.”

Barret Jackman (ankle)

Jackman also continued to practice with the team, but his return doesn’t appear imminent. Jackman won’t play Thursday and I would consider him doubtful for this weekend, although that could change.

“Barret is coming along better day by day,” Murray said. “At this point, we’re not sure when he’ll be ready, but he’s certainly showing some encouraging signs on the ice.”

One comment

LOL… “T.J. is a little lighter . . . doesn’t have his appendix with him anymore,”… Classic. Man, do I miss TJ on the ice.
