InvestMidwest chooses 8 local companies
Eight St. Louis companies will be among those seeking investors at the InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum on April 11. The forum, held annually since 2000, typically draws about 50 venture capitalists who are interested in hearing about companies from around the Midwest. Sprint is hosting this year’s forum at its campus in Overland Park, Kan.
The list of presenting companies includes representatives from around the Midwest, but St. Louis has more than any other region. The St. Louis companies chosen are:
- DataServ, a business software and services company.
- Edunn Biotechnology, seeking $2 million to develop a drug for Alzheimer’s disease.
- Envisioneering, which has an FDA-approved prostate biopsy and treatment technology.
- GameRail, which is testing a faster computer network aimed at computer gamers.
- Global Velocity, a content security company.
- Kereos, seeking $25 million to develop imaging agents and therapeutics for cancer and cardiovascular disease.
- Medros, a drug-development company focusing on cancer and diabetes.
- Netlogic, an Internet telephony company seeking $2 million to expand its network.
Some, such as Global Velocity and Kereos, are veterans of past venture capital show-and-tell meetings; others are new to the process of seeking capital.
